Maybe put him in again. He was pretty good coming up to support in tackling. Our run defense was getting gashed with Logan Ryan. There are even low lights of Ryan missing tackles and being in wrong spots too.

Yeah cant be much worse with a rookie was my thinking as well.

What's weird is Ryan had looked better in tackling in the regular season. Brown was having some major whiffs on a weekly basis. Our team was slipping and sliding all over.. it was weird. We looked like an away team much of the game.

The big gashes we got where they were running for huge yards a lot was Logan Ryan. He just seems like he's off. Probably because he hasn't been here and doesn't know the assignments. In the passing game he may give up a little but he's also clutch with interceptions. I would put Brown back in.

Agreed which is why Kyle went that route, but after that showing, Brown seems like a fair go.

Agreed. Its not like he cant swap out mid game like that do at RG.

Are his comments off for a rookie or just comments from a guy who wants to compete?

CRY BABY... that's about it.. not that LOGAN was any better, but I do like the rookie Cry Baby..
There is nothing really wrong with what he said. He said he would do what's best for the team so you guys are over blowing this. But he's also kind of right. Logan Ryan was getting gashed in the run game. I think Brown is more aggressive coming up in run support. I would like to see Brown back in. But I understand Shanahan's concern too.
I'd like to see Wilks put Brown in there over Ryan if Ryan struggles, I like Brown, I think he's the FS of the future, with Hufanga at SS as long as Huf comes back strong from the ACL injury.

I hope so. Ryan isn't playing well

Dude definitely didn't struggle, that would mean he would've given effort 😂
Wouldn't be mad if the kid can come in & make some plays when we need it

Logan Ryan will be an upgrade over Brown. Brown has not been playing well and has had terrible eye discipline and is taking poor tackling angles. He's a rookie so it's not unexpected but we can't afford this right now.

This is an older take, posted before the Packers game took place. But Logan Ryan looked pretty darn bad against Green Bay. In fact, he was responsible for those big gash running plays the Packers made on the defense. Brian Baldinger pretty much confirmed this on Greg Papa's KNBR show today. He said that Ryan's job was to take a stand, make the RB stop and either pivot to left or right. He apparently did not do this. He dived for leg tackles and whiffed each time.

I don't know if this means Brown will see more time or if he's in Kyle's dog house for some earlier discretions. But, I guess Ryan is starting, so...

Just watching it, yeah they were just falling down all over the place out there. It was maddening. Rust, rain, I don't know but def needs to be better this week.
I could see why Shanny is hesitant to play Brown. When you see the all-22, it's obvious how frenetic Ji'Ayir Brown can be in the secondary. The dude plays like he took scoops of the OG Jack3d to the face before the game. He looks antsy like he wants to make a play so badly. I like the aggressiveness, but that's also how he got in trouble during the regular the season. Any OC worth his salt will circle him as the primary target in the secondary to attack.

With that said, I'd 100% start him because Ryan is cooked. Brown is tencaious in the box and rallying to the ball even if he can be at times wild and uncontrolled. If Ryan didn't want to tackle Aaron Jones, he definitely doesn't want to square up David Montgomery.

Put him in. I can't watch Logan Ryan getting gashed for 50 yarders in the run game again another week.

Brown definitely needs to play more, after his blood pressure goes down a little… maybe around 2nd qtr. 😆
