I was extremely happy to see his name at #87...he's one of the top S in the nation & was the no. 1 S on Daniel Jeremiah's draft board. Pretty sure Niner fans are gonna love this kid...as Lynch said, he's a baller. Welcome to the Niners!

It's worth noting Wilks focuses a lot on DBs.
Very telling.

I was happy, too. Great pick up, to eventually take over for Gibson. He's on a one year deal and probably his last with us. Thinking, ahead, that's smart and the Niner way.

Scouting report sounds like Hufanga with maybe a bit less fluidity to his game. Need to look at the tape
OTC noted concerns about poor angles and issues with tackling (reckless). Gambler in coverage.
I hope coach Wilks gets him to play disciplined. I think he's the perfect player for a zone blitz scheme though.

If he doesn't beat out Gibson, I'll be disappointed. If not, he'll take over next year. Him and Hufanga are going to terrorize.

I"m sure ShanaLynch drafted Jiayir for Wilks to play with in his new defense. 4-1-6 here we come!

I was hoping to leave the 3rd round with either Brown or Battle. Truthfully I liked Battle a little more.. but I'm happy we got one of the two.
be interesting to see how they compare going forward.

I love this pick. He was the S I was hoping we would get based off the little research I did. Hahaha I do think this was a great pick for our system though.

I didn't want to be the first to say it, but I definitely get a bit of a Lott vibe from the way he delivers contact.

This was a guy I was targeting for sure. I wouldn't be shocked if he was a gold helmet guy. Alpha dog, him and TH are gonna be a solid S group for years hopefully.
dude was looked at as a top 50 pick up until his combine. I think this is a steal.

A top 60 talent at 87. It's a very good pick.

Why disappointed? This team sticks with their vets for one, 2nd of all it's not like he was a 1st rounder where he needs to start. 3rd they seem to do this in the later rounds where they take a guy have him play ST while learning for a year behind a vet then taking over next year. Gipson is the perfect guy to learn from, if Brown beats him out it'll be a homerun but if he doesn't it's not a bad thing either. I'm sure he'll see the field on d like Huf did his rookie year as the season goes on
