Hook a rookie contract guy up Elon
had a really impressive press conference today

can't believe this guy is only entering his second season, he looks and talks like a vet

Yup that was one of his best qualities. Him, Huff and Mustapha all have that quality in common
I'm surprised no one is talking about how brown single handedly cost us the game. Let JJ run over the top on him 1st touchdown tried to jump a route when Ward was already there giving up the 2nd touchdown. Then on 3rd down game on the line he has two teammates over the top and instead of looking for the ball he has his back to it and Sam Darnold took advantage of it
Horrendous game

It's a hard position to evaluate right after a game with the view, seeing assignments, enough replays, etc. But yes I do agree with you that my initial reaction was he seemed to be pretty bad out there. Maybe his crappy play is being overshadowed by Odums crappier play? The all 22 breakdown for him should be interesting.

He's terrible the safety position as a whole is a glaring weakness.

Mustapha looks ok, really hoping Hufanga can bounce back but yeah as far a pass coverage Brown is bad he'd probably be better in a heavy blitz scheme. It just seems like he's more focused on making a play rather than preventing a play. Its called "safety" for a reason

They showed the overhead shot during the game. The defensive call was horrendous (although that doesn't excuse the poor execution). Essentially, it appears Brown had a choice: Either help on the coverage of the deep crosser or help Odum over the top. One of those was guaranteed to be open for a big gain. It was a lose-lose. Brown ultimately hesitated on where to help, resulting in JJ blowing right by him.
Brown will not be a second contract player.

Do we still have Taylor Hawkins? We need a FS.

Yeah Browns been out of position alot in these first 2 games to the point that I don't see how they trust him going forward, a healthy Huf is a huge improvement but he doesn't excel in coverage and Mustapha is an unknown at this point.

I don't trust Odum or Brown at all and would like to see a vet added to the mix but I'm sure the pickings are slim at this point.

Agree Hufanga isn't the best in coverage and can give up some plays but makes them as well. Browns decision making / situational awareness just seems to be oblivious on the other hand. Dude has flashed but damn today was really bad by him. JJ touchdown I initially thought ok its JJ I'll give him a pass but then my 2nd thought was wait... It's the best WR in the league how do you not make that your priority especially as a saftey!

I pray they don't trout out the same pair of Safeties next weekend. I don't trust any Safety on the roster right now, its like teams know where to hurt this defense, like a glaring weakness.
