I thought Odum played FS and Brown was the SS?

Wonder if having old savvy vet Gipson next to him was the difference

Im sure it did, Brown plays more like enforcer than a cover saftey. Gipson never popped off the screen making tackles but he knew his role not to give up a big play

The whole secondary was making mistakes, a lot of miscommunication. Think they are still getting used to the new scheme.

The Vikings kept going to that bunch formation and confusing the eff out of our secondary.
How that leads to completely blown coverage multiple times is mind boggling.

People are acting like this game was a blowout. It turned on that 97 yard TD after a failed 4th and goal. 14 point swing on 3 plays. Purdy played fairly well considering he was under pressure a lot and the receivers were having trouble getting open. At least fans can't blame the refs for this loss.

I'm listening to Donte Whitner describe that long TD pass. He puts a lot of the blame on the DC for the type of coverage he called. Some also has to go on the D line that allowed Darnold enough time to throw a pass 55 yards with no pressure. Jefferson is an elite receiver averaging over 1500 yards per season but a lot needs to happen to allow a play like that. No pressure. Perfectly thrown ball. Poor defensive alignment. Poor communication between the defenders. Great receiver with speed to burn.

The ref had a better angle and more speed than both safeties

He's played well overall last year and this year. Big 1 game over reaction. He had an interception of Mahomes in the Super Bowl. Justin Jefferson makes everyone look ridiculous. He's the best WR in the league.
