and honestly, a game like this, early in the season, early in his career - is probably good for him

He's played well overall last year and this year. Big 1 game over reaction. He had an interception of Mahomes in the Super Bowl. Justin Jefferson makes everyone look ridiculous. He's the best WR in the league.

not sure he played well, he did have some picks. you usually see the big jump year 1 to year 2. my big gripe is with Odum he is a ST player back there.

Seemed like the safety play got better overall once Mustapha replaced Odum.

He didn't make a lot of mistakes last year.
Wonder if having old savvy vet Gipson next to him was the difference
He's had his fair share of mistakes last year.
It's just because the Niners were winning and often winning big, they were not as magnified.

If you watch the Eagles game he took some real bad angles against Brown and Devonte that caused some big third and long conversions, but they won big so people didn't care about those mistakes.

This is why I think it's important to pay attention to bad plays even if they're in a win. People say it's nitpicking, but it's really crucial to do so.

Bad plays in a win are still bad plays

Plenty of posters were calling for him to be benched b/c of his mistakes last year. I still think Brown will be ok just a bump in a the road. And where is Gipson?. They should've brought him back. He couldn't have been that pricey.
Alot of jokes about the referee that outran our secondary. If that doesn't show the coaches we need more speed back there I don't know what will
Don't like what I see so far

Gipson is in JAX serving 6 game suspension is my understanding

He is suspended for first 6 games and currently with jags I believe

They did bench Odum at least temporary. Maybe that's what they need to do too. I like Mustapha a lot better.

Welp guess bringing him back wouldn't have helped. Hopefully it's growing pains with Brown

Brown had a lower PFF grade than Odom and Mustapha. So sad.
Growing pains with the young ones.

Yup, I think it was both of us in the game thread saying that freaking Brown was having a worse game than Odom when everyone was calling for Odoms head lol
