Scouting report sounds like Hufanga with maybe a bit less fluidity to his game. Need to look at the tape
OTC noted concerns about poor angles and issues with tackling (reckless). Gambler in coverage.
I hope coach Wilks gets him to play disciplined. I think he's the perfect player for a zone blitz scheme though.
If he doesn't beat out Gibson, I'll be disappointed. If not, he'll take over next year. Him and Hufanga are going to terrorize.
Why disappointed? This team sticks with their vets for one, 2nd of all it's not like he was a 1st rounder where he needs to start. 3rd they seem to do this in the later rounds where they take a guy have him play ST while learning for a year behind a vet then taking over next year. Gipson is the perfect guy to learn from, if Brown beats him out it'll be a homerun but if he doesn't it's not a bad thing either. I'm sure he'll see the field on d like Huf did his rookie year as the season goes on
This is the way and I love the approach. If he beat him out, great, but its not a necessity. Gipson had a very good year in 2022.

I have to assume that any negative posts about him in here are trolling/sarcasm. He's gonna be a stud and will get some playing time this year before taking over as a full time starter next year.

Great value, we're lucky this guy lasted that long...Wilks is wet right now the way Saleh was when we got Fred Warner (lasted till the 3rd).

I have to wonder how many people on this board have ever really watched some of these players. I watch a fair amount of college ball and I know almost nothing about the players that are getting picked in the 3rd round and beyond. I'm not talking about looking at the draft profile and forming an opinion based on size, speed or arm length. I'm talking about actually seeing them play and watching them closely. I doubt many have done that. The coaches and scouts do.

This guy is a highlight reel. His instincts are always on display. Very impressive. High character and loves football. His rookie year he's going to be a heat seeking missile on special teams.

His highlight reel reminds me of Gipson. Always seem to be in the right spot.

For many players nowadays, film is readily available. Not highlights, film (meaning good or bad and in-between). Maybe not all-22 film but nonetheless.

College all22 film is like a black market. Gotta have connections to get the goods.

Seems like a ballhawk type safety that doesn't have the measureables but has instincts. Supposedly a high character player. Can never have enough of those.
Should have a better rookie season than Jimmie Ward. His rookie season was horrendous.

Mainly because they were playing him at CB.

Fangio had an immense brain fart and had him against Brandon Marshall? where he got whipped for 3 td's. Thats on Fangio, for as good of a D cord he is, he f*cked up a ton in certain situations.

So you hate Talanoa? He is of the same ilk in every way. He is Gipson's replacement.
