More depth for the secondary.

Dude looks like he has some long arms
I know nothing of this man
David Bonilla says his name is Darrell LATER Jr.
I don't know what we are doing in this draft and off-season at all. Who is he?

Small school CB, had a strong week at the Senior Bowl. Long and explosive, really good fit for a predominantly zone scheme.
5th round pick means he must be good

Great to know

You gotta understand that roster-wise we don't have a lot of needs. There may be 2 or 3 positions in question, and the answer to those positions are likely already on the team even if we drafted nobody. Ji'Ayir Brown and Jake Moody are the only starting potential in this draft for us (Moody for sure). The rest are depth and rotational pieces. I think what Shanny & Co. are doing is addressing the periphery of this already talented roster to replenish depth in key positions. And for a team still in it's SB window keeping the roster deep in talent extends that window.

CB is a key position with questions in need of depth, and competition at the number 2 spot. This is a good pick.

Great points. DB/CB has been a sore spot on this defense. Edge also. Looks like a Wilks draft so far. I like it. With Purdy (assuming he's going to be 100% and QB1) at a salary of 1 million a year, you can spend a ton of cap space on defense and sign up a lot of free agent offensive talent. I guess Kyle is going to put the offensive pressure on himself and his coaching talent to get those undrafted OLinemen (and possibly 6th and 7th round OLine picks) up to starter level talent. We shall see.

Excellent point.

I feel he's going to get an OL guy either in FA or UDFA.
