I concur. He's played outside almost his whole career specializing in press man. Glad we got this guy. In 2021 he had the lowest catch % (the 2nd lowest was Sauce Gardner ) I know the competition was worse but it just shows that he can stick to his man. Also, qbs just stopped throwing at him.

I don't know what we are doing in this draft and off-season at all. Who is he?
Small school CB, had a strong week at the Senior Bowl. Long and explosive, really good fit for a predominantly zone scheme.
Lombardi keeps talking about him as being a SCB? It seems he's built for the outside. Educate me.

And that's exactly a scheme fit for Wilk's defense, isn't it? Long aggressive CB's who excel in press?

Lombardi does not know what he is talking about most of the time.

As talented as he is in press man, he's definitely best suited to play on the outside, especially when you consider his combination of size, length and speed.
One of the positives on Darrell Luter (from his scouting report) was how competitive he was in the Senior Bowl in press-man situations.

Darrell Luter fits the type of physical press-heavy corner 49ers new DC Steve Wilks has traditionally liked. Intercepted 4 passes in 2021, while allowing just 12 catches and 0 TDs on 45 targets. pic.twitter.com/3YJCG7agjz

3rd and 1 against Troy late in the fourth quarter, Darrell Luter comes up big on the blitz. pic.twitter.com/ONAVaFWSak
