You think so right out of the gate, or later on in the season?

One concern that I do have with him is his tackling technique. He's on the receiving end of his hits more than he should be considering the competition. Needs to get a better base and drive into his target. The good thing is that he doesn't lack contact courage and can easily work on/fix this. Lenior is much better in the run game and I honestly think it will be hard for Luter to take the job this rookie season. Demo was better then Ward at times man, even in the playoffs

And this emphasis in the run game is the reason why Womack has been benched as well as why the staff liked Lenoir Moseley and J Ward (at Nickel) and Kwauan. And why they signed Oliver to man the slot.

apparently his weakness is vs the run... he may not be strong setting the perimeter and closing it in.... since he is so sticky in press coverage i see him coming in this year being our nickel corner to cover inside receivers

Nah he won't play inside. The slot will belong to Oliver, Womack or Demo

Outside
I concur. He's played outside almost his whole career specializing in press man. Glad we got this guy. In 2021 he had the lowest catch % (the 2nd lowest was Sauce Gardner ) I know the competition was worse but it just shows that he can stick to his man. Also, qbs just stopped throwing at him.

I think that new UDFA from Texas could win that job.

From Grant's good and not so good from rookie camp. So take for what it's worth
Built like a third-year pro. Frequently lined up in press man coverage and shut down the opposing wide receiver without actually using hands, because bump-and-run coverage is against NFL rules in rookie minicamp. The only time Luter gave up a catch, he slipped on the grass while wide receiver Shae Wyatt ran a dig route. Perhaps Luter needs better cleats.
