Is he going to be kept as a DL or LB?
Seems a pointless question, but if he can be the 4th or 5th LB, it might open up an extra DL or DB spot.
He's an edge rusher and an excellent athlete. A good pick with high upside IMO. I like this pick where it was picked.

Oh he fast

He was a top 10 player in the nation coming out of high school but ended up buried under the embarrassment of riches that Georgia has had over the past few years. Definitely a guy that can be a much better NFL player than college with the right coaching.

Thanks! Very encouraging.

Yeah, Kirby smart essentially admitted that they had this guy playing in coverage and that isn't his strong suit.

Imagine this guy coming in from the left side and boss from the right, gravedigger in the middle with armstesd gobbling up 2 guys!? Then Dee Winter with his blazing speed and great angles flying on. Mushahahah

Oh I can imagine it.

What's so cool about these picks are that we don't need them to come in and be well rounded players - we are talented enough and set in most spots were we can have them play solely to their strengths their rookie year and get the most out of them.

I give it 50% chance that Coach Wilks will be interviewed for a head coaching job this next offseason.
Runs a sub-4.5 40, that's just stupid.

Same, an Aldon Smith comp!

I'm just curious, who are the guys on the 49ers that you followed when you were a kid? I mean, who are your favorites on those teams?
"I forgot his name. What's his name, defensive end. [Former San Francisco 49ers DL] Aldon Smith, yeah, that was the guy. I used to watch him day in and day out."

Aldon has long arms, so I'm guessing he was going to ask about how you use your arms?
"Okay, yeah I really just use my length to an advantage. With long arms I really can't fit into a shirt comfortably. It's either much long, like my arms stick out the bottom of the shirt, or the shirt will be too big. So, it's like, man, you know it's kind of crazy coming up but working out for good now."
Probably my favorite pick. Very high potential with him
I really like this guy, looks like a Dee Ford remake mold. Hopefully he can be another late round steal for us.
5th rd gem
Signed and sealed.
Fastest first 2 steps in the draft class based on the new GTFO metrics the niners established. That's good enough for me. He also LED Georgia in sacks in 2021 the year Javon Walker was the 1st pick in the 2022 draft

Im curious as to how he compares to Dee Ford athletically because if he brings that skillset, this will be our best pass rush under this regime.
Late round Micah Parsons

We'd on get comp picks if he is here for 2+ seasons though

I hope we have Wilks for 2-3years, not just for picks. I want our defense to continue to evolve and I'd like Coach Wilks to have the opportunity to really leave his stamp, help our DBs develop, as well as for a successor to be groomed. Id also like some continuity developed on the staff. Can we get a reset before getting poached again?
