Laborn has the forward lean you look for, always getting more yards than your average runner would get. Beyond this, I saw a guy with pass protection ability who gets low on short yardage, and runs with both power and elusiveness. IMO should have been a drafted player if not for some injury concerns early in his college career, and some off field issues. The highlights are great, but those don't always tell the whole story. You watch him individually play to play, and you'll see a super talented kid.
Sure, Marshall isn't the best competition, but Jeff Wilson (who I loved as an UDFA addition when we got him) came out of Conference USA as well. I think we got another potential stud, and I'm excited to see what he can do going into the pre-season. Looking at his spits, it didn't matter what caliber he played against, he produced. Statistically, he racked up big-time numbers this year, ranking top 10 in the nation in BOTH Rushing TDs (16) and Rushing yards (1513).
