Huge concern. NFL defenders are notorious for causing fumbles. CMC never fumbled in college but fumbled in his first NFL game and 6 times over his first two seasons.

He will be in the doghouse if that happens. Remember Breida?

Breida.. and that Exhibition Sensation #23 (forgot his name) who fumbled against the Jets.. then Sermon also fumbled... all 3 gone !!

That fumble in his Longhorn career still hunts him I gues..
He's got the elusiveness and ability to break tackles, which is good. A lot of college rbs look good in space, so I look for someone breaking tackles or being elusive, especially inside. Low center of gravity and smaller stature enables him to be very slippery among big bodies. Pause.

Fumbles are a huge issue. His second-level cuts can look mesmerizing but I think overall he's not gonna be able to shake nfl defenses using those moves. They (cuts) are often violent and sometimes not very fluid and also can put a lot of strain on those knees. I know this is part of his game, but to me those cuts will not translate. And they aren't that useful in this offense. The only non-one cut guy who excelled in this system is CMC and he's special.

I don't see him anymore than a PS pick and/or camp body. CMC is a smaller back so I don't see him Laborn making the 53 unless something drastic happens in the RB room or he completely shows out and is impossible to ignore.

I disagree with the bolded, he's making the team as RB4 at least,

Have we traded him to Miami for a 5th yet?

Awesome, well played.
This guy is intriguing and has a lot of very compelling traits. This team has good instinct regarding RBs. In general, you just never know until you see them running behind, and into NFL caliber talent. We'll know in preseason.

That would leave Jordan Mason as our only "big" back. I don't see it unless one Mitchell or CMC get hurt in camp.

Ei, if Water Bug LaBorn turns out to be another gem, then I saw we trade Mitchell to Houston ... their HC knows how good he is, I'm sure we can get a 4th that can be a 3rd on how well he does..

Seems like a head case.

I am hoping he's matured. After all that happened at FSU, he stayed to finish his degree before transferring to play football. If he HAS gotten his stuff together, he could be an absolute steal. Some sources say he would've been a 2nd or third round pick if not for his history.

As for those trying to confirm measurable and recruit status, he was indeed a five star recruit.

Official pro day numbers were good.

Weighed in at 5-9 204

Ran 4.52 with a 38 1/2 inch vertical

23 reps on the bench

7.08 three cone, 4.4 shuttle times.
Obviously worth the risk. If he turns out to be a punk he gets cut and never heard from again. I love taking these kind of upside plays as UDFAs.

Agree with the sentiment. If he stayed to finish his degree, and was still committed to football, it screams someone who learned his lesson. Fingers crossed that is true. As you stated, this kind of upside UDFA player, could be really intriguing.
