One idea I had in another thread is to add Sam Howell. WAS may simply give him away, as all the decision makers that took him are gone. He would be a good QB2 or emergency QB, and very club friendly contract. Peters is in WAS may just call in a favor. We would be wise to take QB2 serious.

I like him as a player, more than most probably, but I don't want to spend more money on backup QB in FA, when we could potentially find a good backup in the draft.

His salary is in range with Brock's. Basically costs nothing. Wouldn't expect Washington to move him on that note. They also need a backup and could play him if their high round rookie isn't ready to see the field.

He wouldn't be FA, he's not a FA. He's on his rook contract. He makes like BP money. Slightly more than BP, cuz he was picked higher, (like everyone who was picked). Would have to trade and WAS may simply give him away for pick swap. They may want to simply move on, and not leave him dangling in the breeze. They seem to be drafting QB1 at the top with Mariota QB2.

Yup, I don't know why DC would prefer him to Howell. Other than it's a new regime and they are gonna put their stamp on it. Maybe they don't want two UNC QBs

Maybe they aren't drafting a QB. Still doesn't make picking up Mariota any better IMO.

Short pass and run game. We can do some damage. If we are going to win vs GB our run game and defense better be on which of course I'm confident will be.
