Until the literal monsoon
Chicago had to play in it too and roster was exponentially better than theirs. They still won. The rain didn't come pouring down until the fourth, which we only put up a few points until then. We lost that game. The weather isn't an excuse. We had every tool available to win but we sucked booty. It is what it is.
pitt week 1 should be a win because Pickett isn't very good and our defense is elite. He will struggle immensely. Our defense is best against QBs like him. Unless he makes some enormous leap. Which would suck for us. Lol
Extreme weather is an equalizer for weaker and outmatched rosters. That is all that happened in Chicago last year. Normal weather and we were beating the Bears.
Jimmy 9-0 win over the Redskins in extreme rain - weather played huge factor and a legit excuse for just three FGs and his poor play. Jimmy in a loss vs Indy in the rain at home - weather played a huge factor and a legit excuse for his poor play. I never held those two games against him and I was long past ready to get rid of him. No different with Trey and the Bears game. Anyone who comes to conclusions on Jimmy or Trey off those games is a ****ing idiot.
Yeah but Jimmy doesn't have a super strong arm that can penetrate through rain/wind and jimmy isn't a mobile qb. Those two things are supposed to give us advantages when the weather is rough.
im not coming to a conclusion on them. I'm just not making excuses for horrible play. It wasn't just Lance that played bad, deebo fumbled too etc. The fact is we played like crap against an inferior team. It was pathetic all around.
there really is no excuse for us to lose that game besides we played like crap. Couldn't even get in field goal range most of the time, turned the ball over multiple times. We had the better run game, pass game, kicking game, defense. Somehow we lost the game. I just don't look at the game and feel sorry for our guys. They got beat and played poorly. It wasn't even a real competitive game. Lol we never really got started. It was just a close score because the bears struggled too but they were the worst team in the league and essentially talentless overall.
Instead of making every excuse in the world for why we lost, I accept the reality. Played poorly and got beat. The elements are part of the game. When you're exponentially better than the other team and every advantage on your side, you should still be able to find a way to win. We lost. Not a big deal - it's one game. But to make a bunch of excuses for everyone who sucked that day? Come on.
the difference in the game was that fields is extremely mobile. He used it to his advantage and seized the day. Which is exactly what that kind of skill set offers in that kind of weather.
