It won't be, Mitchell is exponentially better

This. How anyone can think otherwise is kinda laughable. Mitchell's only flaw is health

"Only" flaw - is a pretty major one. Like I said, I think Mason brings more as a 1-2 punch. He can come in and start to wear down the defense. And he broke some nice runs last year, against a stacked defense that knew he was getting the ball.

I'm not sure if Gipson was predominantly FS or SS, last year. Or if it mattered given they rotate? Either way, they both should be competing for a starting safety role.

Well yes but then the loser of the battle would then be FS2. Other two would then be battling for FS3.

Needless to say I don't see either making the team unless one has a great camp. Odum is safety 4 because of his st prowess and I dont see a 5th safety,

But the competition is for S1 (either FS or SS). Naturally the loser ends up as the backup.

For sure on Odom. Although Hartsfield is a ST player too and hand picked by Wilks because he knows his system and had a solid year as a starter last year.

Exactly! Kyle doesn't give af about talent if it can't stay healthy. He's already shipped off 3 RB's for that very reason.

RB2-4 is going to be a legit competition.

I'll edit as we gain more information as we go but for now, this seems like the likely camp battles for starting positions, depth and/or making the 53-man roster:

QB2: Trey Lance vs. Sam Darnold (Starter & Depth)
RB3/4: Jordan Mason vs. Khalan Laborn (Depth)
RB3/4: Ronald Awatt vs. Ty David-Price (Depth)
FB2/WR6: Jack Colletto vs. Ronnie Bell (Roster)
TE3: Brayden Willis vs. Charliie Woerner (Depth)
IOL4: Jason Poe vs. Nick Zakelj (Depth & Roster)
RT2: Joey Fisher vs. Jaylon Moore vs. Leroy Watson (Depth)
3T2: Kevin Givens vs. Kalia Davis (Depth & Roster)
2i2: Javon Kinlaw vs. T.Y. McGill (Depth & Roster)
ER2: Austin Bryant vs. Robert Beal Jr. vs. Kerry Hyder (Depth & Roster)
SAM1: Dee Winters vs. Oren Burks (Starter)
SAM1/2: Marcelino McCrary-Ball vs. Jalen Graham vs. Demitrius Flannigan-Fowles vs. Curtis Robinson (Depth & Roster)
CB1: Darell Luter Jr. vs. Deommodore Lenoir (Starter)
SCB1: Isaiah Oliver vs. Deommodore Lenoir (Starter)
S/CB2: Samuel Womack III vs. Ambry Thomas vs. Qwuantrezz Knight vs. D'Shawn Jamison (Depth & Roster)
FS2: Tayler Hawkins vs. Miles Hartsfield (Depth & Roster)

Let the games, begin!

We're not cutting Jordan Mason. We're not cutting Kevin Givens. We're not cutting Oren Burks.

Thank You, someone said it, all 3 are locks, Mason proved he should have been picked not Ty Davis-Price, Givens got $2M GTD, and Burks helped turn the ST unit around.

Those competitions are for which role.

That said, Kyle proved he'd cut a 3rd round RB already. And Mason was behind him. So who knows.

If AA, Hargrave and Kinlaw are locks, that leaves one spot for another DT. Givens is not a lock by any means.

Winters vs. Burks is for the starting position at SAM, not making the 53. That said, there's a real path where Winters doesn't make the 53 too.

I mean they gave Odom a 3 year deal with a bonus and gave Hartsfield a 1 year deal with no bonus. I don't see them being as high on him as people believe.

He's a camp body until I see otherwise.

That's fair. I have a feeling we might keep 5 S's this year with more emphasis on coverages. Or maybe 5 LB's instead. 10 DL. Not sure yet.

Nice. Could Brayden Willis give Latu a run for his money at TE2? Could Tig Brown be a 1st year starter over Gipson? Who is the backup center? Possible surprises at those positions.

Those two are great ones. Added.

I wonder who the two backup C jobs are against.

C: Nick Zakelj vs. Jon Feliciano???

Don't overlook Ilm Manning as the backup center. Kid had 50 starts at LT in college but is better suited to the interior OL because of his size. Kid showed well in the rookie minicamp. Spoiler alert.

That's a great point. It does sound like he's off to a great start and looks very natural and comfortable at C.

Ohh Feliciano. He's gotta be the backup center, due to having some starting experience. Forgot about him. I was trying to think who the backup center would be and drew a blank.
No way Jon Feliciano is fighting for a roster spot, he got nearly all of his $2.25M deal fully GTD.

Also I don't see Colletto vs Bell being a thing, more likely Colletto vs TDP, I have Bell on the 53, 6 WRs this year, Bell is underrated, he & Gray are replacements for Ray-Ray & Jauan IMO, Bell won't clear waivers IMO.

Doubt Odum's job is in jeopardy, he was a 2nd team All Pro last year for ST's. keep 5 CBs & 5 Safeties.

He absolutely would be my front runner. He could legit push Brendel too. And that's a good thing.

That's where I'm leaning as well.
