Oren Burks is a serviceable back up and good Special Teams player, but with the additions of Dee Winters and Jalen Graham gonna make it hard for him to make the team.

True, but he did play very well when he did have to fill in too. But yeah, Graham and Winters should be a great battle at SAM even if we won't use the SAM position as much. I expect more 3 S looks.

Until I did the thread, I didn't realize how many legit battle there are. I expected less given how deep the roster already was but there are some good ones. You highlighted several here!

Indeed, a lot of great camp battles, even those that are locks to make the team have to either battle for their spot, or a better spot(Starter maybe).
It's been a while since we were on this type of situation. Considered in the top 5 most completed teams, 49ers have so many positions already locked. If there's any late round draftees and undrafted players who will make the roster, they should be really really good and I'm looking forward to that.

Gonzalez VS Moody!

Haha. Good one! How could I forget the best battle in camp?

If Moody lose to Zane Gonzalez wooooooooow I don't know what ells to say.
Latu vs Willis is probably the most underrated battle but a very interesting one. If they will keep Dwelly in the 53, only one of these two will be in. The other will most probably stashed in the PS.

They could easily take 4 Tight Ends - especially as Latu and Willis are very different players. I'd say Latu as a 3rd round pick takes Woerners job so it's Willis vs Dwelley and highly possible both make it.
I'm fascinated by the WRs 4/5/6.

You've got McCloud, Gray, Bell, Snead etc.

McCloud feels the safest with his proven return ability.

Gray could be in trouble if he doesn't take a second year jump and they only go with 5 WRs. He barely played at all last year.

That's the battle right there. The one everyone should be watching. I can't wait to see them battle it out in 50+'s and kickoffs out the EZ. LOL

I doubt Brown has the edge over Gipson

Nah, these are just OTA reports of who has stood out so far. He's got to stack much more to actually overtake him; agreed.

Yeah, that's right! It's just OTA, shorts and shirts, not too much substance yet. Even Shanahan angrily dissed any conversations about who's ahead against who from OTA practices.

For sure. We're just getting started.
