Would-be sack on Brock Purdy caused by interior pressure up the middle

Play was pretty dead at that point but he threw it anyways and was almost picked as it looked RB gave up on play already

Yeah. Depends on how these guys count the plays that are "would be sacks".

A lot of let up on the D and those would be sacks change the whole dynamic of the play. Preseason will be a little better, we won't see Brock out there I'm guessing

I'm in the minority but I think we will. Not much but i think Kyle will want to get him some real game action to get mentally prepared.

I'm with you. I think Brock should play in the pre-season and make sure he deserves that top spot. He's not Manning or Mahomes, he should have to prove it all the way to opening day.

Purdy is playing faster today but he also hit the defender in the chest twice. Both plays showed Brock's limitations. Lenoir jumped Kittle's deep out route. But dropped it. Wilks had a sim pressure where Jackson dropped into coverage. 13 didn't see him. 95 dropped it.

He obviously can, he's just been inconsistent with it. That's all. I think he'll be much improved going forward but his accuracy on them has been sketchy.

Is the DE dropping into coverage a new wrinkle for our defense? Jackson is a super freak athletically, so it makes sense, but I can't remember seeing us run that.

I'm not sure limitations is the right term for this tweet, or at least they didn't explain it. Limitations would be if he simply couldn't put enough on it and caused the issue but they didn't say that and made it sound like a bad read which can happen to anyone.

He obviously can, he's just been inconsistent with it. That's all. I think he'll be much improved going forward but his accuracy on them has been sketchy.

And that is why he should be taking the majority of the snaps in pre-season to get a good long look at how his changes in mechanics is effecting his play on the field.

I would think that would be a mistake for the team. If TL stacks solid days on top of each other in camp and then has a great preseason and Purdy struggles out of the gates I think you have an immediate controversy on your hands. In my opinion unless a guy is unquestioned as the future you have to show the base why he deserves to be there and that starts in pre-season.
