So that's THREE reporters who said Purdy was good today and one (Cohn, who shouldn't even count) saying he wasn't.

So again… where is this "Purdy was awful today according to all reporters!" coming from?

i wonder why Chakravarthi is not talking about Purdy "mixing in" bad ones. The one he overthrew in the endzone he was mad about himself and the two dropped ints.
I wonder why those did not qualify for an "mixed in bad throws"...

He obviously can, he's just been inconsistent with it. That's all. I think he'll be much improved going forward but his accuracy on them has been sketchy.

How can you be inconsistent doing something, when in reality he hasn't played enough to make that claim? Jimmy being inconsistent at throwing a deep ball is a known thing, there's yrs worth of film backing it up (currently happening in LV TC as well).

By struggling to complete the ones he does attempt. It's good to hear he is getting better at it. I think that's the main reason he's been holding the clipboard. You can't start for this team if you can't hit the short to midrange stuff with consistency. Sailing balls high is something he needed to work on too. I can't wait to see the preseason games to see how he does.

He's been inconsistent with it in the times he's played. That's all we can gauge him on it. It's something that's been reported in the previous two training camps too.

You want to know how dumb that argument is? That's like when you say Brock has a habit of bailing out to the left and issue throwing right and me saying "he's only started 7 games, how can it be an issue/habit with such a small sample size?".

but you're quick to bring it up about brock but with Lance you throw any issues he's displayed out and say he hasn't played enough m.

Probably doesn't even realize he's doing it. Bias can be insidious.

Can't read too much into these early practices. With Brock coming off injury and being a second year player. He's going to struggle with accuracy probably until the end of this year.

I'm mostly concerned with how quick he goes through reads. If he's throwing the correct read, what happens when the play breaks down how does he improvise, and how are his feet and mechanics under pressure.

The accuracy will probably come later and he will tend to be more of a streak player until he gets more time.

He's going to have some way off target throws. It's just going to happen. He's got 4 plays to make 10 yards at a time. He's only got to honestly be good for 2/3 of them at most to be extremely good.

You lost me at struggle with accuracy all year. The arm, should be all the way back. No reason for him to be inaccurate, outside of knocking off rust just getting back at it. If BP is not accurate, that's like 90% of his game. He would suck.

Agreed. If he's not 100% of who he was last year he shouldn't start

Lol posters be extreme so your saying anything less than winning every game is unacceptable. It's laughable at best.

His progression is not going to be linear. There may be steps back before steps forward. He made some boneheaded overthrows in games last year as well. Way off target passes or bounced in the dirt passes during games.

With a repaired arm I'd expect a lot more of those for a while. Just losing control of the ball. For the passes where his motion is good I expect his placement to be just as good as before. He's going to have to relearn confidence and throwing.

Physically he's probably fine but I do expect quite a few wtf throws to be seen for sure do to mentally recovering.

A lot of it's game planning on shanahan. There were series Brock struggled in games where shanny basically said first series first few passes air it out 10+ yards. Instead of just giving him a couple checkdowns to get into the groove. That's more of a rookie second year problem. Rogers doesn't need checkdowns to start ganes but I expect Brock to. Like any other rookie.

i do not like cohn but at least he is reporting what REALLY happened.
2 INTs that were dropped.
Other writers reports TDs in plays that would have been sacks and report is as if it was a highlight-play

You don't like Cohn unless he's telling you what you want to hear. Where are you getting the two interceptions from?
The fact that Purdy off of extremely quick recovery is already outpacing lance and Darnold consistently against the first team defense is pretty remarkable. I saw the comment from another team executive that essentially said Purdy is only good because of our weapons and Shanahan is laughable and sour grapes because they didn't find Purdy.

Lol what?

Lombardi also said Brock had a great day. So far the only person I'm saying Brock did poorly is Cohn and him saying that may as well be a good sign at this point.

You counter the argument of somepone being a brock homer with a quote of the nr1 brock homer?

Dude, you are doubling down on being wrong, lol. Lombardi is far better and unbiased than Grant Cohn, who is a guy who just says outlandish s**t to get clicks from people dumb enough to engage with his terrible hot take garbage.

The reality is that all these guys are content creators, are trying to differentiate themselves, and have their own biases. Take them all with a grain of salt. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Lol. Always good to have reminders about the pitfalls of TC hype.

What a weird situation to come back only to retire so quickly afterwards.
