You an tell by the preseason games he's a lot more decisive and patient too he had 2 runs this preseason where he waited for the hole to open up then ran through it

It'll be interesting this Friday because I think Lance will play with the 2s and in the first/second quarter - so it'll be a good test to see if he can do it consistently. It's a big test for him.

Mcnichols also almost got trey killed

Pretty inexcusable for both at this stage of their careers. The fact they had TDP PP for Brock is just stupid, IMHO.

Poor blocking got him killed in Philly.

hope there is a better plan this year.

It was wild to do that in a meaningless pre-season game, and there were other options available.

I respect giving him a shot with 1's but we just went through something similar with a TE who couldn't PP either. For Brock's first game-like reps, imagine if he got hurt again because of him.

what other options? Mason is even worse at pass protection.

TDP's draft reports list pass pro as a positive...

In pass protection, Davis-Price has proven to be a high-IQ player. He is good at scanning for second-level defenders and rarely misses an assignment or executing the block.

*******

As a pass-protector, Davis-Price has the awareness and willingness you want to see from a running back. He also has the strength to stall blitzing linebackers and the quick first steps to shift for moving targets.

Mason has been a lot better at it at the NFL level in games. TDP for some reason hasn't transferred this over to the NFL level.

Well that's what happens when you draft someone - you evaluate their potential and then see how it materialises in the real NFL games.

So far Lance has thrown about 3 games, so we're still not quite sure what we have.

I think Trey has great potential to be a top of the line QB, but that's just me. I'm always optimistic. If Trey knocks it out of the park against the Chargers, man o man will I be excited about the season. He's got all the physical tools, he just needs as much Reps as Kyle can give him without jeopardizing his development of B🐔B. He's been rapidly improving and hopefully will give Brock a run for his money later in the season.
