Thought it was odd that Aiyuk wasn't out there at all with Trey even though Trey took more of the QB1 reps today.

No CMC, No Aiyuk. They're really trying to test the kid. Hopefully he keeps stacking good days regardless.

They even had Aiyuk out there with Brandon allen. I guess they were mixing a lot of the guys around today.

i like that they're testing Lance this way. It's a good test. You're not always going to have all pro and pro bowl all over the place. Injuries etc whatever. So if he can still play well with normal talent around, like he did today, it will say s lot about him. A great QB needs to elevate the guys around him, no depend on a lot of talent around him.
helps explain the spree of touchdowns some

Interesting because Grant had him in the not so good category today and he loves Mason.

I'm not concerned about it yet. It's really early in camp and let's see how he cleans it up once pads are on. It's too early to be concerned about any of that stuff, IMO.

he's aware of it and was working on those throws after practice today. I'm sure he will get it down.

I'm concerned because he's entering year 3 and still doing it

Oh wow didn't know that
Ofcourse when it comes Trey's performance, David Lombardi can only focus on Trey's one bad throw. Trey can go 14-15 and DL will only talk about the one miss.

He's still doing it but not as often. His rookie season he was doing it all the time. His 2nd year he was doing it alot also but was much better. Now his 3rd year he's still doing it but is better than year 1 and year 2. He hasn't regressed.
You don't see ghosts in these type of practices. That helps Sam alot.

It probably has more to do with them practicing redzone situations for the first time this TC.

Interesting comment. Wish they would've elaborated exactly why they think this. I haven't heard this from the coaches. From their comments it sounds more like TDP has blasted ahead.

Either way, if Mason and Ty are both that much improved, our running back group is going to be even more monstrous than we could've ever expected.

Well you also know you're not going to get hit. Very different from a real game. You start beating on someone and that's going to get in their head. Have to be a tough SOB like jimmy and Brock were but figure out how to not get hurt while bein tough

The sad thing is you can still find articles and quotes from Jets and Panthers training camp a few years ago praising Sam Darnold for his camp performance. For whatever reason, it hasn't really translated into the regular season.

Yeah just another reason I'm not buying any talk that he's gonna be #2. Just made-up BS to stir the pot and get people talking to generate clicks. Shoot, I'm curious if Sam can even lock down #3 if they like Allen as much as they seem to indicate. Worth considering the fact that their contracts really aren't too significantly different.

But that said, Sam has regularly had pretty good preseasons before taking huge dumps when the games actually count. So even if he did that again, it'd be hard to put much stock into it since he's proven it hasn't been any indication of what he'd perform like in real games. I can't really be convinced until he proves to have overcome his specific, well-documented struggles.

Every QB on our team has room to improve and hopefully any success our guys have in the preseason translates to the regular season.
