Is this a make or break year?

No, his job is safe for the next 3-5 years
Nah. We'll re-sign Bosa sometime this offseason. So with him out of the equation we only really have Jennings, Gipson, McCloud, Burks, Kinlaw, Dwelley as free agents. Hardly a list that is going to derail a team if they all leave.

This season and next we basically have this team to try and win it with.

Gets interesting the following year with AA, Ward, Hufanga, Banks, Aiyuk, Lenoir, Lance (if not traded earlier) Mitchell, McGivitz, Greenlaw, Oliver all free agents.

That's when hard decisions will need to be made.

Lol. Not a chance. Jed pulled on that string because fans can't let go of the glory years and he needed something to lean on in firing a very successful coach. Same with 'winning with class'. Pure garbage.

Do I detect a Sam Darnold reference?

You did not. I'm so cool off Sam Darnold. He ain't it.

Sorry SWH, but Alex Smith is going to stay retired.

It would be fun for us to sign him and then get rid of him. He would probably be the only QB in NFL history to be dumped in the middle of a SB window three separate times.

Sign him and fail him on the physical cuz of the spiral leg fracture. Make him sign the waiver.

You Nailed it!

The biggest reason that some fans are pushing firing Kyle is just pure impatience. IMO as long as we have a winning roster Kyle isn't going anywhere, but once the talent level of the team shows signs of slipping a discussion may be had.

Kyle's not going anywhere for a long time. Lynch on the other hand… I could see him moving on at some point.

That's my position as well, on both accounts. I wonder if John would either step aside, or take a different title, if it looked like we were going to run the risk of losing Adam Peters.

I'm just wondering what kind of pressure Kyle is under this year. We've been in this Superbowl window the past 2 to 3 seasons and just keep falling short for whatever reason. I don't think Kyle will be fired no matter the outcome of this up coming season. But I do think we could see a major shake up with core players on this team if we don't get number 6..

Will Kittle be here after next season? Juice, Trent, Ayuik? I wonder if a major re-tooling will take place of we don't win it all this year.

Just want to know who you're replacing him with to raise the quality of the football we've been getting from the 49ers under his watch???

"Shake up" ??

Don't let a sport like basketball with so many firings lull you to sleep.

Didn't look like it when John let him interview for other teams

That rings true, though I think Trent Williams probably plays his final NFL season this season unfortunately.

Mmm maybe, but I am guessing next year. And I am guessing the '24 first round pick goes on an offensive tackle.

Yup, and it should be.

Nah. Clinton was in his first term, Tupac, Notorious BIG, Eazy E were all still alive, Beavis and Butthead was driving parents nuts, and rent was under 2k for a 3 bedroom house the last time the Niners won a Super Bowl. That is unacceptable especially with how close they have been to getting 1 for the last 12 years.

some fans on here have gotten weirdly complacent with just making it close enough, I can't relate, especially if you weren't old enough or alive to see and appreciate any of the 5 super bowls
