the new point will be a poll which captures the spirit of the WZ on who will start the opener, I think the last time we had a debate on who would start the opener was maybe 2016?

Really? It's a poll about week 1 only. I don't think this needs to turn into a "QB thread." Leave your pee out of my Cheerios lol.

I am discussing journeyman RT play Vs the only Edge rusher in the league on Nick Bosas level.
Watt can be dealt with, you are talking KS here, and we have Trent on the other side. So McK will get a lot of help. McK may be an upgrade over McG. The McG is a bum crowd should back me up on this.

Mcg was just another one of our lame duck first round picks. He was a solid player in his best days but never anything better than above average, very replaceable.
we will miss his locker room leadership more than his play.

I'll miss his #69. Right now it's taken by an UDFA DLman - not a lock to make the 53.

Didn't Spencer Waege get that number? He's my favorite UDFA. I hope he makes it.

McG is bum. But we needed to upgrade that spot and instead are going with a dude who was on our practice squad and teams didn't sign him off it. Doesn't change the fact McG was a liability in the passing game in key moments.

Will start all 3: Brock in passing situations, Trey in running situations and Sam when we need a deep INT/punt

I was more curious about the poll results than the "discussion."

See! Without this poll and thread, we'd never have seen this nugget of comedy. Well done, sir!

I didn't expect Darnold to have more combined votes than the other two

I honestly don't give a s**t. Whoever Kyle thinks will give them the best chance to win approximately 2 weeks before season begins will be the guy.

Yup. Maybe 1 week before the season. BPs timeline is going right up to week 1 it looks like. Or close to it. Wonder when they will call it or name the starter? Will we see any gamesmanship? Maybe they will keep the Steelers guessing all week.

I don't think it's that far fetched. Kyle has had his eyes on Sam for years, this is the perfect opportunity to see what he can do with him.

Yeah, when we need those clutch turnovers - he's the man! No one has done it better since he was drafted!

I honestly think it depends on training camp and OTAs. Whoever plays the best gets the job, barring health.
I'm fine with any of the three:
I'm still curious to see Lance showcase what he has for a season, talent is there but he hasn't gotten a chance to do his thing... or show us he's a bust.
A healthy Purdy is undefeated, need I say more? At this point, has more potential to be a franchise QB than Lance does.
Intrigued by what Darnold could do in this offense with Shanahan guiding his hand, but has be underwhelming in his career. Obviously my least favorite of the 3.
