Will start all 3: Brock in passing situations, Trey in running situations and Sam when we need a deep INT/punt

All 3 on the field at the same time. Interesting

It's possible we could use Lance as a FB again.

Can't believe I was wrong

Please discuss football. I had a feeling this thread would go straight to the s**tter. Although I thought it'd be around page 3, so not bad I guess.
I'd say Purdy has a slight lead, but he won't be out there for camp and preseason and if Trey (or Sam) kill it, it'll be interesting. And then there's a real chance of Purdy not being ready also needs to be considered.
If Trey can't beat out Darnold it's strike 3 yer out!! 💯

As I've said a million times, I spent two months on timeout for defending Trey too harshly. I had his back just like I did Jimmy. Purdy was the lightbulb for me, and exposed both of them. That said, Jimmy has at least accomplished something with this team. Until Trey does that, he's subject to criticism and doubt about the worthiness of his selection and what we gave up.

I'd say he has already lapped his competition.

Apologies, just saw this.

Football - I think Purdy will be medically cleared but Kyle will "play it safe" with him and Darnold will start week 1. I just don't think Kyle can help himself with his new toy.

The question was to start week 1. Lapping the competition insinuates it's not close. I'd say the combo of not being there during camp + health uncertainty means it's closer than you think.

This. I think Purdy is that dude, but if Lance or even Darnold kills it, then that has to be considered.

Great points, don't think health will be a concern Purdy was already throwing a month ago albeit lightly. Preparation not going through camp is crucial but let's not forget he was mr irrelevant thrown into the fire mid-season and went undefeated.

Honestly I'm hoping to take one more look at Lance for a couple of games and let Purdy get to 100% but establishing the starter is huge for not only the growth but stability of the overall team
I have no idea. I know who JL and KS want but that depends on _______________________________.
From all the reports, it seems like brock is on track. He probably could start. That doesn't mean he should. I might put him on a pitch count. Play a quarter, then a half, then reevaluate. Not just because of his arm, but to see how the right side of the line is working out.
Ever since Garcia left the building I have found it useful to pull for #3 on this team.
Ergo, I vote Darnold for the chip.
