49ers D in 2023

I have been thinking …
yes we had some of the best defense here the last few years esp in 2019 and 2022
but with Wilks, I think we may even get better!

Robert Saleh and Demeco Ryans were both formidable defensive coordinators, but they were both very inexperienced! It helped that other teams didn't know of our defensive coaches tendencies, as there was not much game tape on their D from before!

whereas Wilks is a known commodity, you can pull game tape on him and predict how he may call plays on D

Our D last few years has had embarrassment of riches
DLine : Ford (2019), Bosa, Buckner, Armstead
LB: Warner, Azeez Al S., Greenlaw
DB: hufanga, ward

If we can stay healthy; I can see potentially 5 all star caliber defenders on this team. (Bosa, Hargrave, Warner, Greenlaw, Hufanga)

With Wilks aggressiveness, where I see this defense potentially getting better is not just creating turnovers, but setting up our offense for easier drives and scoring opportunities, something we didn't do much last few years as we seemed to play mostly prevent D
