Darnold is clearly #2. Lance did shutdown any discussion that he might be replaced by Allen though so that was good for him.
I disagree. They picked Trey for a reason. They know.
They got a reset with Purdy. They picked Trey to start. Sam is better. Trey might be 3
I'm talking two. If we keep three who cares anyway. Kyle will stick in who he wants if god forbid something happens to Brock.
Then Sam is an easy choice

Maybe Snead until Ray Ray comes back.
No Danny Gray?
He's hurt, maybe he goes on IR.

He might start on IR depending on how bad his injury is.

and i like what i saw from darnold
Lol. Not even close. Sam is 2
Shanahan is 1. His choice is the choice that matters,...and that's the only thing that's clear.
And he is most likely going Sam

If he goes on IR before week 1, he can't play this tear l. Conley Is a reliable vet. I can see us trading gray

What the hell has Sam done to get this much praise? People acting like he has just been out there tearing it up in camp and the games? He has been meh in practices and just decent in games but nothing spectacular.

It's not that sam is great, it's that he's more reliable. Lance is very Dr jekyl/mr hide.
i think we keep all three but I can see Sam as #2.
If Lance is #2, I think it's to save his value. If he goes to 3, I think his value is going to be worse.

I think Lance was more dialed in than Sam at times. To throw dimes in pressure like that. 🔥 Decisive Trey is pretty good. Here for the qb drama lol

I'm telling you Trey just needs reps
He won't get them here without injuries, at least not this season. But he looked better than he ever had those last two drives. Steve Young said his problem was confidence, now that he's improved his accuracy (clearly on display today). If Steve is right, and he remains confident, and continues learning how to read defenses, he will be a good QB.
But will that be here? Probably not.
Oh I already know he won't see reps unless injury and if Purdy is the qb I think he is Trey won't see those reps here and unfortunately somewhere else. You can't expect a kid who has the fewest passing attempts coming into the league to be a quick finished product in a year or so especially when injuries has cost him as well. You can see the talent when he's on a roll and has confidence
It is pretty amazing how unrealistic and ridiculous the faux expectations of some are. He is way too green, even now, to be considered a finished product. It's insane. High schoolers have thrown more passes than him.
He showed today he has REAL arm talent, and that he actually DOES have some escapability. What he's shown prior to this, and may again, is that he is extremely inexperienced. Not only has he not seen a lot of defenses, he hasn't even ran a lot of offensive plays. Prior to this off-season he didn't even really know how to throw the ball. That's how far behind he was.
He may be too far behind to get there on this team. The injuries played a role in that. But I think he'll be a decent QB in the future at some point.
I think that's what most of us think, especially myself. I think once he gets about two years under him of playing - he will be a high end game manager. I don't see him being elite but I think he can play once he is more experienced.
I think he has elite arm talent (now that he knows how to throw the damned ball) and enough mobility to destroy defenses. His ceiling is still top 10 to me. Will he get there? That depends on the mental and emotional side.

I'm worried about Moody's tenancy for the ball to slice right. A better showing than last week though.
Really happy for Latu. Should be a good confidence booster after the drops in practice.
Excellent to see Lance step in and rip a few throws at the end. A much better showing.
Purdy looks the exact same guy which is excellent.
A lot of rookies flashed - Bell (wow), Latu, Winters, Graham. Willis had a nice play or two also.
Nicholls looks better than some of our other backs.
I cracked up when Aiyuk got flagged - too funny.
