The FO should get criticism for the trade, but they should also get credit for finding Brock. Both the trade for Trey and finding a Mr. Irrelevant in Brock and have him put up top 5 QB numbers is incredibly improbable, yet both things happened. You can't make this stuff up.
If Brock looks like he did last year, we found our guy for the next 15 years.
That's all I wanted. Mission accomplished.
If Brock doesn't work out, we are back to square one since we all know what Darnold is. Garbage and he proved it tonight besides the one throw.
Trading Lance was a mistake since if Brock gets hurt we are f**ked. I get it though he was moved to make room for Bosa and there needed to be some sort of pin drop.
I look at it this way. JL said we need the money to ys. There was no competition. KS spun it that way, but knows Darnold ain't it and is hoping to God that Brock doesnt get hurt. If Brock f**ks his UCL again, his career is most likely f**ked since he will need Tommy John Surgery. Look at Ohtani, poor guy is about to lose 200M cause of the same injury.
The clock has started to tick because you better be right when you fail this badly to evaluate talent at the most important position. 6 years... 6 years and we haven't found a franchise QB... Though it's looking like we lucked into one. Still we don't know if he's the real deal given the sample size. Furthermore, the unwinding of this FO and Coaching staff has begun. Lynch said it's not Lance's fault that they didn't build an O around his talents... KS is now saying that he believes they did but he got hurt....
So which is it? I think we are starting to see who wanted Lance and who didn't...
As much as I love KS... I always believed his stubbornness would be his downfall. There's a crack in the ship... We better hope that Brock can patch it make all go away or else it might be a long long season.
