They gotta stay aggressive with trades knowing that sometimes you're gonna hit (TWilliams, CMC) and sometimes you're gonna whiff (Trey, Dante Pettis, Reuben Foster).

Totally agree. Overall they made some pretty good trades since this regime has been here and this trade with Miami that netted Lance didn't even set them back. Who knows, this 4th round pick that they got may turn into a great player.

What? Of course losing 3 first's and a 3rd set them back. Imagine how much better the team could have been if we had used those picks to make other areas better. Just because we are still a very good team in no way means that losing all that draft capital didn't set us back. We could have taken three first round shots at another DE, a CB, and an OL.

What's the problem? The problem is that we wasted significant draft picks on a project that we could have used to make the team "even better than it is now". Not sure why you can't see that. Do you really think the team could not have improved with all that of those picks? We are a very good team. We could have been an even better team if we didn't waste these picks. Case closed.

Problem is, you don't know what a set back is!!!

Sure the 49ers could've added good players with the picks that were spent on Trey Lance, and it would've made the team better no doubt about it. But by not getting those players did it hurt the 9ers chances of making the playoffs three outta the last four years?? I mean after all this, they still ended up finding a QB1, so again where's the set back??

Ashamed? No. Irritated by the Soloman Thomas and Trey Lance picks/trade ups? Hell yes. Not happy about how those traded picks couldve helped us in needed areas? Yes. Glad that the braintrust was lucky and covered those blunders with other picks/transactions and praying Purdy continues his trend? Mos def!
