Yes , cost me several fantasy football teams last year .

didn't help that I would draft Russell Wilson as his back up
Lynch and Kyle did what is best for the team especially since Trey wanted to be traded and ran off with the Cowgirls.

Every other coach and GM in the league would have been fired for this screw up. Because we are a playoff contending team we just look the other way as if the blunder didn't happen. Just imagine for a second.. We're sitting at pick 12 , and take RT.. maybe not a probowler, but better than what we've had. Maybe.. Just maybe we're able to slow down the eagles pass rush a half a second longer. Maybe we luck out and draft Parsons.. We have a ten year bookend to Bosa.

Instead, we literally threw away 3 first round picks for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Why aren't you outraged by this? I'm a whiney fan for asking for accountability though?

you write that but can't even comprehend your own thoughts. I hope you're trolling and don't really think this way

But, with what QB? After drafting Lance, the way everything worked out, they ended up drafting Purdy. You can call it luck all you want, but that's what happened.

Let's say we stuck at 12 and instead went with Mac Jones. Or, let's go with Parsons like you said. That effects EVERYTHING that happened in between. Maybe we end up trading for Cousins like Florio tries to have us do every damn year to get him off his Minnesota team. Maybe we pay him a new contract and don't even think about Purdy as a pick..

It's so easy to nitpick AFTER everything has happened. But, many were griping about Jimmy G and would not have been okay with the same thing year in and year out.

This does not negate the fact they swing and missed on Lance. In my heart of hearts, I believe it was multiple things: Lance needing a lot more time playing to get things under wraps, being used as a Lamar Jackson and running him too much instead of trying to build him up as a QB, in college during the pandemic throwing off his ability to get more time in, and coming out in the draft too early.

But, they struck what currently looks like gold in Purdy. So, please, if you wanna ridicule their trade for Lance, you should laud them for Purdy, too.

And, for the love of God, they gave up 2 1st's people. Either way, they were spending their 1st round pick on a QB no matter where they were positioned. The 2 1sts and a 3rd MOVED them to pick #3...

our biggest fear is not that we are inadequate. our biggest fear is that we will lose to the cowboys in the playoffs.
Honestly? No, but if they fail to extend Bosa within the next two weeks, I will be.
The main issues I have with the FO is the following:
1. Gave up 3 picks for Lance KNOWING he is a PROJECT to begin with. Seems after the selection - rumors have it as the FO being split on Lance to begin with (well at least according to the click baiters on YouTube)
2. I don't believe we gave him an actual chance - meaning - he sat his first year (so be it), injured his 2nd year and loses the starting job to BP bc of his performance. While I don't mind bringing in Sam - I just feel like TL should have gotten more playing time in the preseason - simply put we know what Sam can do he has been a pro for awhile - lets see what TL can do.
3. And to me this is the WORSE - we trade him to a contender within the conference??!! Personally I live in Dallas - been a Niner fan since the 80s - and this Cowboy team - don't sleep on them. Their defense is probably better than SFs (in my opinion); they have explosive playmakers as much as SF does - if anything - they remind me SF so much. Anyway - so to me - we give a competitor a guy who was drafted 3rd in the NFL 3yrs ago - and IF he winds up being 'the guy' - we just gave him to a team we will look to have to go through for the SB - just bad. If anything - would have looked to push for a trade with MIA, CLE, DEN, OAK, TN. In other words - get him out of the conference. Shocked that MIA didn't look into a trade for him as well - thought they might be interested bc of the connection of coaches along with Tua can't stay healthy.

I think it speaks volumes as to the belief of Shanahan in Lance's potential that they were willing to trade him to an in-conference playoff rival. I think if they were truly concerned that he would develop into a top flight starter someday then they would have sent him to Buffalo or Baltimore, even if it meant a tad less compensation.

Also, the way the Cowboys went about it brings the lulz.

Not the only one who caught that lol.

And no, there are some coaches/gms who wouldn't get fired if this happened. The bad/average ones would be gone. But not when they've built this kind of a team and also making the owner a lot more money.

It sucks. Though I don't think they've mishandled Lance that poorly though from a development pov.

But this trade was stupid for what we got. We were only saving 1 mil in salary cap for this season. If Purdy had to miss some games, you then start Trey and let him get some exposure and hope that he plays well enough that you increase his offseason value, if not it wouldn't have changed that much anyways.

You guys are missing the point. You all don't believe in the championship or bust mantra. Y'all are content on being competitive. I want championships.
