For real... Couple thoughts though... And I've been a fan since '80... First, as many of here have mentioned, We took a big swing, and missed.... Thankfully our other - regular - swings produced and we are still a top 5 team.... Secondly, (and I'm looking right at you jays9ers) Holding management accountable only works by putting out a lousy product year in and year out and the fans stop going to games altogether. It took me too many years to realize that WE AS FANS HAVE ZERO IMPACT ON HOW TEAMS RUN THEIR BUSINESS. ZERO - ZILCH - NADA. In the worst years, I don't watch as many games because wow does it break my heart to watch them... Looking at you Jim Tom Tomsulo, Chip Kelly, Mike Nolan, Mike f*cking Singletary.... But ultimately and with all honestly, nothing you do as a fan impacts your team .. so you speak to accountability... To whom? You? GTFOH you can go root for another team.... Please .. and thank you. Bad teams year in and year out get fewer nationally televised games and don't see that playoff revenue, they don't sell as many jerseys maybe? Their accountability is the bottom line... Not sure whiny ass fan crying over some s**t that, ultimately (and clap along with me everyone) HAS (clap) NOTHING (clap) TO (clap) DO (clap) WITH (clap) YOU (clap clap clappity clap)

And this is for ALL YOU dumb ass haters thinking you are in any way better than - our could do better than - KS and JL...

Every other coach and GM in the league would have been fired for this screw up. Because we are a playoff contending team we just look the other way as if the blunder didn't happen. Just imagine for a second.. We're sitting at pick 12 , and take RT.. maybe not a probowler, but better than what we've had. Maybe.. Just maybe we're able to slow down the eagles pass rush a half a second longer. Maybe we luck out and draft Parsons.. We have a ten year bookend to Bosa.

Instead, we literally threw away 3 first round picks for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Why aren't you outraged by this? I'm a whiney fan for asking for accountability though?

Or we become the Browns and we don't even have to worry about slowing down the Eagles pass rush because our season was over a month ago…

We consistently have produced and we have a strong team. That is why they can live through this mistake. All the others had bad results and they could not survive that miss.

We have the best roster in the NFL. Any other team makes this kind of trade and they're screwed for years, but our guys are so good at team building that they can quickly move on like it never happened. We were in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP after wasting 3 1st... WHO THE HELL CAN EVEN MAKE SUCH A CLAIM IN NFL HISTORY!? This kind of move has historically sunk teams and we're basically like Trey who?

8 players in the top 100. Multiple all-pros all over the roster. A bunch of young guys with potential because they excel at finding mid-late round talent. I'm really not sure what the hell else they can do to impress some of you, but I'm guessing even if they win a superbowl we'll still have clowns in here finding something new to whine about.

We need to move on and hopefully find the next Trent Baalke or Chip Kelly.

***I've been a fan of this team for almost 30 years, and I love sports so I'm also a hardcore fan of other teams in all major American sports, but some of our fans make me want to out of these fairweather people who complain about EVERY SINGLE THING they can whine about. We have some of the most negative fans in sports, and it's embarrassing. I've suffered through freaking Terry Donahue and people want to cry about Lynch? The man that has been one of the final 4 teams almost every year since he's been here? Take that ungrateful garbage somewhere else... Honestly maybe I need to be the one that leaves. I've been on this forum forever and year after year more of these Grant Cohn fans keep popping up in here and I can't block everyone. I never thought I'd prefer Reddit over this place, but the opinions spewed in here makes me question if these people are even fans of the team or just trolls trying to get a rise out of members. The worst part is that there is nothing the mods can really do because they aren't breaking any rules other than being annoying. People come in here to read news about their team, and every single thread has a few people repeating the same negative stuff over and over again, ruining any positive discussions. None of this is cool.

Go support KC then.
I guess the report card is F minus since 1994.
Not even a little bit. I am very excited about the direction of the organization. Might have a couple of lean years for depth while we recover from the lack of draft capital, but I expect to remain competitive as long as the this front office is in charge.

And no, there are some coaches/gms who wouldn't get fired if this happened. The bad/average ones would be gone. But not when they've built this kind of a team and also making the owner a lot more money.

It sucks. Though I don't think they've mishandled Lance that poorly though from a development pov.

But this trade was stupid for what we got. We were only saving 1 mil in salary cap for this season. If Purdy had to miss some games, you then start Trey and let him get some exposure and hope that he plays well enough that you increase his offseason value, if not it wouldn't have changed that much anyways.

You're not so bright.

you can't win championships if you're not competitive

Even though personal attacks seem to be tolerated here now, you need to grow up.

I guess go follow a different sport then. It's very hard to win SBs in the NFL and a lot has to go right during a season, especially if you don't have the right QB. You think the Patriots would've had a dynasty without Brady? Chiefs winning 2 SBs in 5 years without PM? Hopefully Purdy is that guy and we'll be winning SBs then.

Who knows. But it's bound to happen. It's the nfl. What have you done for me now. Lol you only get so many chances .

Wrong answer. When you have a coach who actually gets results, teams that grow tired of "not winning the big one" and make a change always regret it. Especially now, when teams change coaches every other year because they don't see immediate success. If they fired Shanahan he would IMMEDIATELY be hired elsewhere, and there would be a line of teams who would fire their coach for him.

Then the Niners would be back to being desperate. Remember how paranoid we were that Kyle was going to bail on us and sign elsewhere because he had a bunch of real offers, and we were coming off the Tomsula/Chip Kelly era?

Kyle is stubborn, arrogant, and he sucks at drafting, but overall his abilities are far and away the best option we have.
Is it embarrassing? Sure, it's a bit embarrassing. They know it's embarrassing. Not a complaint but just the fax. K&L looked embarrassed/uncomfortable and trying to save face. They know they messed this up to a degree and yeah, at that level..sure, it's not a good look. When I heard JL say that Trey said he was sorry, I just thought, I don't think he asked to be traded. He feels like he let them down maybe. I think they wanted his 🍑 out, so that they could focus on Brock without distraction. The situation was becoming a factor, so they decided to just not have that anymore. They want their energy focused on Brock. Is that wrong? Not really but it's just a moment where ya, it's a blemish on an otherwise, high regarded organization. Noone was expecting the injuries and the anomaly that was Purdy. What do ya do when someone busts out of the gate like that at such a high level? You do everything to have the best environment for him.

I think the JL fake croc tears were over the top and not really needed, kinda made the situation look more pathetic lol. Just imo. I think they probably told Trey..look we are trading you out..here are your options. And that was that. Who knows. "The best option" they came up with was a 3rd stringer on Dallas? Where is the opportunity there? They could have waited a bit longer after the media firestorm(which was ridiculous) before trading out. But maybe the decision was already a done deal by then. Guessing it was idk. A hot mess but will be forgotten before long. That being said, all the best to Trey..fk the Cowpatties always and go Niners.
Why would I be ashamed......this team is in a great position to win a SB and has been to NFCC numerous times in the past few years.

Moving up to get Lance was a poor decision based on his lack of football experience but at the end of the day, the draft is a crapshoot. History of the draft dictates this. I will bet you only 1 QB, maybe two out of the 1st rounders in the 2020 draft will be successful long term.

If Purdy becomes our FQB this will just be a blip in team history.

Confused on what there's to be embarrassed about….?
The only thing that would make me upset is if they screw up this Bosa deal.
They just need to fire whoever is making the scouting reports in the first round cause we suck at drafting in the first round

If Brock proves to be great, that all changes.
