With Micah, Jimmy, and Brock in 2021 and 2022 we'd be looking for our 7th SB in 2023 and beyond.

They were never taking Micah with his baggage and lack of defined role. Cowboys lucked into correct role by happenstance.

Would've likely taken Slater.

The Niners wouldn't have drafted Micah Parsons. character questions coming out.

When Purdy is injured again and we are stuck with Darnold and then Darnold plays like his usually s**tty self we will all think about how poorly the front office did their job with Trey Lance. They way over paid to move up to draft him. Did not analyze their team's ability to wait and develop one of the most extremely raw qbs ever. And did a horrendous job getting value out of him as either a backup or from a trade. They did nothing correct with Trey Lance at all. They should feel embarrassed. And when he is developed in Dallas and becomes like a Josh Allen and facing us in the playoffs I hope they remember its their own fault for being pure s**t.

You are aware that we've knocked Dallas out of the playoffs 2 years straight right? Shanny is going to have his system and he's going to beat the dog crap out of most teams regardless to who the qb is. Lance is going to have to be Mahomes to change that and it's safe to say he's nowhere near that level

It's incredible how people really think every pick in every round in every year will be a star over the picks the niners have had. Sure the Niners blew it with the lance trade, but got lucky with purdy and other players. At the end of the day you want to build the best squad, regardless of draft pick. So far the niners front office has got a great roster the same way harbaugh did.

Difference is one roster was built from scratch and one was mostly inherited.

Trey Lance leads Cowboys to first playoff win over the 49ers in over 31 years, gets his first playoff win after a much-maligned career. Lance threw for 356 yds and 4 tds, two to CeeDee Lamb who torched the 49er secondary for 210 receiving yds. The outcome was never in doubt as the Cowboys built a 28-0 halftime lead and finished with a 42-21 wildcard weekend victory. Lance also rushed for 56 yds and a td and the Cowboys defense, led by Micah Parson and Trevon Diggs, sacked 49er backup QB CJ Beathard seven times and intercepted him three.

Trey Lance, entrenched as QB1 at the beginning of the season for the first time in four years, has seen a career resurgence leading the Cowboys to a 12-5 record while throwing for 4,417 yds and 33 tds. The Cowboys go on to host Jordan Love and the Packers in the divisional round next week. This is Kyle Shanahan's last game as 49er head coach as he accepted a six year contract to coach his alma mater, the Texas Longhorns this upcoming fall.

I have been saying this over and over again. Amazes me that more people don't see this.

I watched his first game. The announcers were criticizing him all game because they said he looked lost. I forget who now but on God I swear I saw a reporter on Twitter say if he didn't know any better, he would have thought this was Parsons first time playing football.

Then Ware gets hurt and Parsons plugs in at edge and the rest is history.

You must mean Lawrence ? The other DeMarcus retired in 2016
Trey Lance was supposed to ball out like Brock Purdy

NOT

THE

OTHER

WAY

AROUND.

Trey will be good in 5 years........IF he wants to be.

He's already a $27 million dollar man so I doubt he's having a rough go at it.
I gave credit to the FO for shooting for the fences to get Trey. It took balls to go up and get the kid. But the draft is a crap shoot as proven why a generational guy like Mahomes went as the third QB behind the likes of Trubisky (who every team would have taken ahead of him that year). People love to judge on hindsight, but getting it right is a game of luck as much as it is skill.

And really, it's too early to see what kind of QB Trey will become, but having a guy like Purdy come in and force his way into a franchise role changed the calculus. Lance needed to rise to the occasion this offseason, and with the pressure on he didn't separate himself. I would rather he have stayed on, even as a QB3 this year, but understand why he wanted a chance elsewhere.

This is Brock's team now and I'm stoked that we have the great fortune to have a kid who had the best first half season of any rookie QBs career. Here's hoping Purdy is the real deal and all this drama will look foolish by year's end.

Lmao. So now we're content with just making playoffs? My god, how far have this franchise and its "fans" fallen. Jed York said it himself, we don't raise nfc west division banners, we don't raise nfc championship banners, we raise Super Bowl banners. And so far Kyle is no better than any other Super Bowl losing coach.
