Their D and O are going to be problems too, lol. Throw in a great coaching staff and it could get ugly for us.

Game isn't going to get ugly, let's not talk as if this is a team that's projected to pick top 3 going against the prime Roethlisberger Steelers now. Either way this is going to be a close game
I'll be there in Pittsburgh for the invasion.

The preseason is no indication of the regular season. I don't understand the hype.

I think its just fear of the dreaded slow start 49ers. We always seem to loose games early in the season, then add in a new defensive system.

I like this blue chip first game of the season tho.

Legit challenge right out the gates, lets hope we take it serious, because it will be a great bench mark of what we are looking at.

Tough game. Steelers are very well coached, road game and tough place to play.

steelers D is legit and they have some good weapons on offense that can pose us problems.

However I think if we come in ready to play and not play sloppy week 1 football we should be able to win but having kicking concerns in a game like this is a legit concern. Hopefully Moody's leg heals quick and his preseason issues are going to be a fun fact in a great clutch career for us.

You can say this about most teams we play on the road this year. Our players are kinda good too and we're a great road team.

Oooh! Fun! The invasion parties are such a blast as well!

Anyone actually picking the Steelers? It seems like just cuz some people are pointing out valid concerns for the team and giving credit to a solid opponent that's being a Debbie downer to you?

Week 1 is always weird.

Kicking and Bosa's status are my biggest concerns.

I'm interested to see if Kyle is going to be a bit more aggressive on 4th downs this year, especially with a QB he seems to trust more than any other he's had here. A silver lining to questionable kicking could be forcing his hand in 4th and short situations on the other side of the field.

Good point about Kyle trusting Brock more. Main thing with that though is they better keep Brock clean and upright.

When you say close game do you mean like one of those games where the other team goes up like 17 or 24 points and we battle back to lose by 7 or 10?

I've watched Pitts last 4 games last year and their preseason games this year and they are a helluva squad. I just don't think we match up well with them.
That doesn't mean we can't win, I just think this early in the season it's a problem for us. If it was week 5 or 6, then I think it's an entirely different story.

I'd love to be wrong, but IMO we are not ready yet for a game on the road across the country against a team that will be among the best this season.

Guess we'll see soon enough, but you know that old saying….."that's why they play the games" lol.

Week one is weird and generally an extension of the preseason. Shany"s teams seem to always start slow. Should win this though.

I will too
Niners 27-21

I think the niners defense will reveal itself finally. We've watched a vanilla defense with backups most of the preseason and fans are worried. I don't think that carries into the season. Not going to lie though. The Nickel scares me.

What scares me more is our inability to stop the run. Steelers will gash us up the gut whist Kinlaw flounders around. And if Nick is not there i cannot see us winning there

Inability to stop the run in preseason.

No Hargrave
No Armstead
No Greenlaw
No Bosa
No Gipson
No regular season game planning

Kinlaw is not a starter anymore. Also our back 7 is pretty key in our ability to play the run. Most of those guys didn't play in preseason and we had no game planning out there.

As long as our guys are healthy our defense should still be scary. My biggest concern is the nickel spot. Man I wish we kept Ward…
