Steelers looked sharp in the preseason. Kenny Pickett looks like the real deal. Going to be tough without Bosa.

Bosa will be signed and will play. There's absolutely zero chance Lynch lets this drag into the regular season.
Doubt we need Bosa to win vs Pitt

Last time we played without Bosa, Marcus Mariota completed 93% of his passes against us and we got blown out by the Atlanta Falcons.
he wasn't the only one missing and there were a lot of other issues, than just missing Bosa
IIRC, a few dropped passes that would've changed the game as well.

This could be Philly all over again. It's going to be hostile. This is Brock's next test. Just as big as the Philly game.

It'll be just like Philly minus the opposing talent and NFCCG atmosphere
Do folks think the Steelers are bad or something?
SF -145, spread is 2.5, O/U 40.5 points

What do you mean? Most of the takes in here are the 49ers struggling and losing to the steelers in week 1.

I think we will win but I'm worried about our defense. New coordinator and he likes to blitz, deep throws have been our weakness and seems to be their strength.

i think our offense will ball on their defense, and we will win, but I don't expect it to be a cakewalk. Tomlin is a very good head coach and his team usually plays really tough, even in down years.
Usually the offense takes a few games to get going, hitting all cylinders. I don't see that with Brock. I think they are going to take on Brock's style of play. Humming right out of the gate. Brock looks like he's one of those guys that can willed his intensity of play at qb onto their team. Eager to see.

Uhhhh I don't think of Kenny Pickett as a deep ball thrower. Maybe I'm wrong

The O line still needs to give him protection. They haven't payed one game snap as a unit. Brock, Sam and Trey all had to bail out a few times in pre season because the pass protection kept breaking down.

He's made a lot during camp and the pre season. At least big time intermediate throws. I thought pickett sucked last year and he is the perfect guy our defense feasts on, but it's a new year and you never know

I thought they played well last night, except Brendel on run blocking, add Trent to the mix and we are in good shape, the issue will be if someone is injured

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 49ers haven't won there since 1996. But the last two times the 9ers beat them (2011 and 2019) the 49ers went to the NFCC and Super Bowl.

That 11' game was that monday night game where like a generator for Candlestick blew out and caused the lights to go out right? That was a game I remember telling myself were in for a special season

Yes that was the game, I was watching it at a bar with a few of my Steeler friends then they wanted to fight me after the game. Damn you Aldon Smith you almost got my ass kicked.....well worth it!!!!

Lol some friends, Aldon ate up Ben that game. F**king guy would've been a 1st ballot HOFER man, such a damn shame

I think about that all the time man. But then there would be no Nick Bosa and I rather have Bosa than Smith.

Yeah, the way Bosa is playing, he's a first time Hall of Fame player. Pair Bosa with Hargrave, and I'm hoping Bosa breaks Aldon's sack record this year.

That stat….Mike Tomlin the only coach in history to go 20 plus consecutive seasons without a losing season…holy smokes that's insane.
Never think about Pitts because we don't play them often but to your statement, even when they're not that great, they're certainly above average in all phases of the game.

Steelers are coming in hot with TJ Watt, Alex Highsmith and this rookie, Nick Herbig, that looks like a Hawaiian version of Haason Reddick. Our OL will need to pack their nuts and keep Brock clean.

Keep your head on a swivel, Brock.

For real. They have waves of pass rushers. Away game on the EST, traditionally start out slow and undisciplined, their strength is our weakness, should be a low scoring game and we have Moody , etc.

I would not be surprised one bit if this ends up an L.

Tomlin is an excellent coach. This is going down to the wire in Pittsburg. I think Purdy will be the difference maker in this game. His mobility will be important against the Pittsburg pressure.
