49ers at Steelers Pregame Thread - 2023 Season Week 1

If it's a rainstorm or whatever I think it favors us more being more of short passing yac team. To me Steelers look like they're more of an all or nothing passing team and they're not great with yac.

Another rainstorm game for Week 1, this time at Pittsburgh. This definitely favors the weaker team which is clearly the Steelers.

Im struggling to understand why people care about this, both teams will play in the same conditions.

I'm struggling to understand how people don't realize that terribly inclement weather affects the game in a way to neutralize strategic advantages, therefore evening the playing field. Did you not see what happened in Chicago last year? How about another example, against the Redskins in 2019? It's not that complicated.

All this being said, this is not expected to be like Chicago last year so I expect it will not matter as much as it did in that game.

Lol, Florio picked the Steelers. He's always been a sack of s**t towards the Niners.

I'm afraid rain negates the speed advantage we have. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a more Elijah Mitchell /Deebo Samuel show

He sometimes is, sometimes isn't. He ranked the 49ers over the Eagles and has consistently said if Purdy didn't hurt we beat Philly last year.

A lot are picking the Steelers, Steelers really are going to be a good team and tough match up.

We played bad in chicago and needed to come from behind when the weather really turned bad.

You guys are just looking for an excuse if we dont win.

The patriots destroyed the titans in a snow game in one of the biggest blowouts in nfl history. I can use anecdotal evidence to prove my point as well.

Yeah. I could see the Steelers stealing a win In week 1 if the conditions are bad and there's no Bosa out there.
This will be the 49ers first play on Sunday

I think it honestly favors the better rushing team. On paper, with big Trent along with CMC and Elijah, we should be better. Our defense just has to not play anything like they did in the pre-season against the run..

The 49ers should be completely aware of the weather situation and after last years performance there's no excuse. But to act like the weather doesn't work towards evening teams is inaccurate.

Come on, Dirty do your thing. 3 tds, 250 yds. passing, 25 yds. running. Show the NFL your back, re-built and am now robo-Brock.
