Curious to see what fans think. I am sure this will eventually be merged into the huge thread, but would love to see some poll results first.
If Brock gets hurt... we might be f**ked. All this talent on the team, for nothing.

With Trey at least he won an important playoff like game for us, and apparently has gotten much better since then. So I would have felt much better with him on the team if Sam also didn't play well.

A 4th and a few million don't mean s**t, compared to a lost season during our Super Bowl window.

Which is not saying much since this is true for every single team in the NFL with a legitimate starting QB.
I don't think we're winning the SB with Darnold or Trey. If we get down to QB3 we're screwed, much like every other team.

I think Trey needed to go for himself more than anything.

Sucks that it's Dallas though.
On one hand trey looked lost, which is concerning since he's been in the system 2+ years and could not even do remedial s**t consistently.

On the other hand Id have preferred to keep him and see if something clicked.

Bummed it didn't work out but oh well

He's too expensive to see if something clicks. If we needed him to play this season, we'd be pretty screwed. He's still making mistakes that high school QBs shouldn't make, but no one should be surprised since I'm not even joking when I say there are high school seniors that have started more games than him. He's so far behind because of covid and injuries. It's going to take him a few years before he gets a real chance in this league to start. He's now going to be QB3 behind Rush in Dallas. It's sad that literally no one in the league viewed him as a potential starter and some didn't even want him as a backup because of how inexperienced he is, including us and he somewhat knows our playbook.

This trade will set him back even further now. He needs stability and I hate that he asked for a trade instead of just sitting and learning for a couple of seasons. Not being QB2 wasn't that big of a deal. Purdy worked his way up the depth chart, so he had a chance to do the same and decided he'd rather have a fresh start, even if this will continue to delay his development.
Trey wanted out, Fk him

I'd want out too if I were him. Smart man. Kyle isn't a qb teacher at all. He's a qb killer.
If money was no object I would have kept him.

I am sure we will get info from Trey this weekend..... but sure looks that way.

I am pretty ticked that after the 49ers spent so much to draft him, reworked the offense for him year one, totally changed the offense for him year two after naming him the undisputed starter year two with out a competition then put yet another offseason into developing him and giving him an open competition for qb2 the dude requests to be traded.

I don't even think he is in a better situation. Dak and Cooper Rush...going to be hard on him to get QB2...his only real hope is Dak refuses to re-work his contract and he gets up to QB2 with a shot to beat out Cooper Rush. Beating out Cooper Rush is no sure thing, not by a long shot. That dude had his own Brock Purdy effect last time he got a chance to start.

There is a real possibility that Trey rides the pine this year, Dak reworks his contract next year or he sits behind Cooper Rush and they don't pick up his 5th year. Trey could be hunting for a QB needy team Year 5 going into his 3rd offensive system with no resume of work.

Can't predict the future, but it sure seems like sucking up his pride and looking at himself in the mirror while he buckles down on the basics would have been a better option. He could have worked behind the scene for a better landing spot that does not have an entrenched number 1 and 2.
I would have kept Lance. Under Kyle our QB's bar 2019 have been killed would have a reasonable insurance better than Brandon Allen.

Is it good for Trey? I don't see him developing there he is also QB3 there. Although Mike Mccarthy is a bum of a coach he has history of developing a QB (ARod) so it might work out and if it does boy what humiliation for us fans and the front office.

A 4th is meh but probably more than i thought we would get.. Probably a better deal for Dallas they get 2 years and he could be a Dak replacement 2 years from now.
The situation was cancerous. just move him somewhere. got rid of his salary and a mid round pick too. Will do the Personnel post mortem after the season

Should have kept him for at least this year, but once he didn't win the backup job he wanted a fresh start. Who could blame him?
