He can't come off IR this year even if he recovers.

Had lots of drop issues in preseason. He's the Trey Lance of the Tight Ends. Will need a lot of work and experience to progress. Basically this is his redshirt year for 2024. If he wasn't injured, there was a possibility of the 49ers having to let him go a la Lance. now he has a chance to make the team next year.

12 draft picks next year, means he probably will have an uphill battle to make it next year.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but he was placed on IR before the 53 man roster cut down. Because of that he can't come back this year. Hope he hired a private coach to work with him during the year.

Correct. Pre-53 man cutdown IR designations are out full year.

"I think there's always concern when something persists, and this has kind of lingered," general manager John Lynch said Thursday morning during an interview on KNBR. "George usually has about one of these things a year, and then once he gets through it, he's good. And so, knock on wood that's the case.

There are some players that are considered injury prone because they always seem to have something wrong with them. Sometimes it's because of the way they play. Guys like Deebo and Kittle are always fighting to get that extra yardage. I wonder how many guys get hurt and never get fully healthy again during the season. Maybe never again in their career. They get back into action or start training before the injuries are fully healed. When doctors give the okay to resume play it doesn't mean they're 100%. Sometimes it just means that they can't injure it any further. Plus, doctors aren't always right. They miss stuff and often go by whatever standard practices are available.
Damn, looking like we might not have Deebo and J Jennings.

hopefully Aiyuk has a big game.

If they don't play this week then at least we have a good early season look at how Purdy does when the team isn't at 100%

Last week no Aiyuk and Giants brought all time pressure, Purdy hit his hot read very often as you expect in that situation and we passed for 300+ yards. That's a check for me.

Hope Purdy gets another check this week. If it happens that we don't have WR 1,2,&3 and he does well, then I'm giving him a ✅✅✅ for the week.
Elijah Michtell is Eugene from Hey Arnold, Kenny from South Park, Moleman from The Simpsons

I think Kittle has tried to avoid surgery on his shoulder and as the years go on, it gets more and more difficult to repair that shoulder. (I belive it was a rotator cuff cartilage damage that didn't need surgery) at some point it just might give out and he'll have a repair job like Drew Brees - I think.

I'm hoping I'm wrong about that injury, but Patrick Willis had a foot injury that also shortened his career. ShanaLynch drafting two tight ends this year may be an indicator that they think Kittle is nearing the breakdown stage, maybe. I hope not.
The tradition of glass RB's continues: Brieda, MostHurt and Mitchell.

Running back Elijah Mitchell is also in that category due to a knee injury sustained during Thursday's practice.
