Watt spent virtually all of his time doing stretches and exercises by himself away from the team. He wasn't involved in practices nor did he play in any preseason games. Watt may have said that he didn't need to be the highest paid but that's exactly what happened. He became the highest paid defensive player in NFL history and stopped his holdout only days before the start of the season.
