Why do we have 9 away games and 8 home games? How do they calculate this? Do they rotate this every other year or something? Would you not have a disadvantage to have 9 away games? This is why I hate the 17 game schedule. An odd number of games just messes everything up.

where have you been when all this was talked about. It rotates every year. last year and next year we have 9 home games

That's fine. I'm just not at all a fan of odd number of games. It should be EVEN. 16 or 18. Some team has an advantage fighting for home field advantage. In a year where you have 9 home games. Vs a team that doesn't have that same advantage. It's just an unfair system IMO.
the league is just setting us up to go 18 games a year

2 preseason games is more then enough

I tend to agree. It makes no real sense to have an odd number season. With the co-practices the teams do with other teams, I think - done right - they can get more done from two joint practices than just playing all three preseason games. I hope that they increase the practice squad if they do go to an 18 game season.

The odd number is useful because (unless you're Ron Rivera) it reduces the likelihood of having .500 records or, worse, .500 playoff teams. Frankly, I'm cool with the odd number.

What I'm not cool with is expanding the schedule in the absence of roster expansion. I'm sick to death of watching two teams with jacked up O-lines playing bad football in November because they've run out of O-linemen. It's bad for the game, bad for player safety, and not worth watching.

Edit: While I'm on my soapbox, please kill Thursday night football. Nobody wants that #($*@.

Meh about the odd number. OK with an 18 game season, but totally agree - they need to expand the roster due to more injuries after a very long season.

I'm sure that the owners are chomping at the bit to make more money by adding another game. Just really still shocked that NFL franchises are now in the billions of dollars.
Jennings is going to go off in this game. The Rams will be too focused on Deebo, Aiyuk, CMC, And Kittle, That Jennings is going to get lost in the shuffle and be wide open all game. Plus he always seems to play well vs the Rams.

Uh, how exactly do they cover Deebo, Aiyuk, CMC and Kittle? I don't doubt Jennings will get his eventually, but not sure he'll even be on the field that much. No team can play man against this team, so zone gonna eat em up. My $ says Deebo and CMC both get theirs. Kittle will get more when fully healthy.

For realz, its not like Deebo, Aiyuk, CMC and Kittle are easy to cover in the first place. If Aiyuk and Ahkello are matched up I'm gonna lmfao!!! I'm predicting that Deebo will have a big this week. They're gonna be so focused on stopping the run and Deebo will definitely be in the mix in the backfield and actually think he will line up every where in this game.

As for the defense, I'm expecting them to get 3 sacks and 1 INT, Stafford always throws INT's vs the 9ers.

God I wanna drop another 20-game win streak on these f**kers and win 6 more Lombardis this next decade to shut them the f**k up once and for all. They little Mickey Mouse rigged COVID "championship" is forever tainted with illegitimacy and asterisks, just like the rest of the 2020-21 trophies won by LA teams. Drive these a*****es back to St. Louis. #SOSAR

Pump more crowd noise, cucks.

Every catch by Puka Nacua....

Yah I'm not impressed, it looks more like s**tty coverage than Nacua beating his man.

that's Mark Sanchez' boy

He's literally a rookie in his first game and he has 10+ catches and 100+ yds… that's damn impressive

I hope we slow down those two receivers. Otherwise we're going to have a long day.

Puka can't score if he's on the bench while the 49er offense under Purdy -- plays ball hogging keep away offense. I think in the Steeler game, at the first half, it was almost a 2 to 1, in terms 49ers time of possession.
Rams are gonna need a few thousand of these too…to balance out all the Niners fans on Sunday:

Yeah seems silly to downplay that type of game. He could've had a few more too btw. Hopefully our players aren't overlooking anyone on that team. We lost to the worst team in the NFL last year when it was all said and done. In 2019 we went on that crazy run of games vs Baltimore, Saints and GB and went 2-1 in them and then came home after the huge win vs the Saints and took an L vs the 4-9 Falcons at the time.

You know McVay desperately wants to break that regular season streak to Kyle and show he can rebuild, he'll be pulling out ALL the stops. We better be prepared and ready to ball and play smart football.

I see what you're doing there and I'm digging it!

I just want that week 1 feeling on repeat all year. Big W, no injuries. Let's go!!!
