all his catches are for like 8-12 yards too he's very consistent in that area of the field and finding soft spots in znoe
Monday feels good! When you win against the Rams on Sunday! Two ints by Staffy. 😌

He didn't look like he felt like the big dog today. Ring or not, losing 9 games in a row to the same team will absolutely wear on you. That's twice a year, every year where you have to answer questions about why you're unable to beat this team and coach. s**t gets old fast.

Yeah, Matthew Stafford is indeed getting old fast also. Purdy, the young gun, beat him. I never got the feeling of calmness I had with Goff in terms of a win. At least Purdy's 23 and has a bright future ahead of him. Stafford might retire any day now, he still has a gun and still can throw with great accuracy. I never feel secure with a lead when he's the QB.

Homers at their best. Mcvay has a championship. Shanahan has choke after choke.

Today should have been an utter beat down with the vastly superior team and the rams looked like the better coached and disciplined team. Shanahan has all stars all over the place. Mcvay has some guy named puka on offense and rozeboom on defense. A loss today would have been an utter embarrassment

McVay is a good coach. Taught by the best. 49ers are 2-0 on the road at the beginning of the season. Usually these games are losses in an average Shanahan year. Both McVay and Shanahan are young (in a coaching sense) and I think McVay has an aging QB and Shanahan has the brighter future with a quickly developing *young* elite QB. I don't think Stafford has any more super bowls under his belt (hope he retires in less than three years), while Purdy has potentially another 18 years of all pro play and 18 potential super bowl years. Who knows. Point is that I'd rather be in Kyle's shoes than McVay's shoes.

P.S. for me, that's Seven super bowl games, 5 wins 2 losses. I know the younger guys want to experience a super bowl win, but for us old guys, the satisfaction of beating the rams is just as good as a super bowl win. Rams dominated the 49ers for a long time in the ancient dinosaur days ( this was before the invention of fire and the wheel for you young guys ).
I don't know. Nice to get the win, but to my eyes, the 49ers got outplayed for most of the game, which has not really been the case against the Rams for the last few years. Stafford's last two games are about as good as I've ever seen him play. If Brock hits a couple of those throws he missed, I might have a different perspective, but the defense had no answers for Nacua, just as they have had no answers for Kupp. Isiah Oliver bailed them out with three huge plays. Hopefully he keeps it up. Go Niners!

we were definitely even in first half and outplayed them in 2nd half

I think you're missing the point…

the goal isn't to be peaking right now. But, as we've seen in previous seasons, losing some cr@p games at the beginning of the season has meant NFCCG away from Levi's. So if we're winning our cr@p games as we figure out who we are as a team, then great!

Dallas has peaked early and so has MIA in the past few seasons. We want to peak in 3-4 months, but have the record go take advantage.

Not surprising that the Rams put up such a fight. McVay is a very good coach and we fans should never underestimate one of his teams.

F the Rams, but you still need to call a spade a spade, McVay is good and will be a thorn in our side as long as he is with the Rams.

Exactly, plus we aren't going to just blow out everyone - this is the NFL and that's a super bowl winning coach and QB - as well as a most likely first ballot HOF. It wasn't like we were playing scrubs, we just weren't playing tight enough defense in the first half. Lol that's all

our offense played great for most of the game, especially the first half. You want your team just getting better and learning, while stacking W's and staying healthy.

it's really important to have Philly/Cowboys/whoever come through Levi's in the playoffs - greatly increases our chance to win.

probably not the right thread but on that note eagles have not been good their pass offense/hurts definitely took a step back. I remember last yea an analyst said that their offense was pretty simplistic but they were executing at a high level but I think the defense have a game plan against them.

Cowboys look good though and in the playoffs man are they going to be desperate to beat us after we knocked them out 2x in 2 years I really hope we don't play them
And Puka Nacua is legit. It's a bummer but he'll be a problem with or without Kupp.

Rams surprised me. I didn't think there was any way they could hang with us unless we turned the ball over like crazy and I was wrong.

Glad we got the W of course and any win is a win. I do have some concerns moving forward, specifically about our secondary but Stafford and McVay are a damn good combo of QB and play caller. Of course if we want to have a chance vs guys like Mahomes/Reid, Burrow/Taylor and even Lawrence/Pederson then we gotta be better. We'll be playing vs better QBs with better WRs and better overall teams. Can't let them keep driving down on us the way we let the Rams do it in the first half. Got lucky a couple of times in the 2nd half too.

But we're 2-0 and hopefully on our way to 3-0 this Thursday. Let's keep it going and make sure we're ready to take on the Cowboys and bring them down to earth. Gotta keep stacking the Ws and get ourselves that top seed in the NFC.

Rams are a very good team and when they get Kupp back even more so. What's surprising to me is their OL. It was a bit of a mess last year and SM has completely turned that around in a single season. That line held. Did a dang good job.

We will see what this all means later but I underestimated them. Need to see more of the Hags too. But the division will not be a pushover as many hoped with the Hags as the outlier. Just giving credit where credit due. To fix the OL in a single season is formidable.
