Glad we got the W of course and any win is a win. I do have some concerns moving forward, specifically about our secondary but Stafford and McVay are a damn good combo of QB and play caller. Of course if we want to have a chance vs guys like Mahomes/Reid, Burrow/Taylor and even Lawrence/Pederson then we gotta be better. We'll be playing vs better QBs with better WRs and better overall teams. Can't let them keep driving down on us the way we let the Rams do it in the first half. Got lucky a couple of times in the 2nd half too.

But we're 2-0 and hopefully on our way to 3-0 this Thursday. Let's keep it going and make sure we're ready to take on the Cowboys and bring them down to earth. Gotta keep stacking the Ws and get ourselves that top seed in the NFC.

Rams are a very good team and when they get Kupp back even more so. What's surprising to me is their OL. It was a bit of a mess last year and SM has completely turned that around in a single season. That line held. Did a dang good job.

We will see what this all means later but I underestimated them. Need to see more of the Hags too. But the division will not be a pushover as many hoped with the Hags as the outlier. Just giving credit where credit due. To fix the OL in a single season is formidable.
its the quick passing game. it hides a lot of OL issues and gives no time for the DL

Exactly, plus we aren't going to just blow out everyone - this is the NFL and that's a super bowl winning coach and QB - as well as a most likely first ballot HOF. It wasn't like we were playing scrubs, we just weren't playing tight enough defense in the first half. Lol that's all

our offense played great for most of the game, especially the first half. You want your team just getting better and learning, while stacking W's and staying healthy.

it's really important to have Philly/Cowboys/whoever come through Levi's in the playoffs - greatly increases our chance to win.

probably not the right thread but on that note eagles have not been good their pass offense/hurts definitely took a step back. I remember last yea an analyst said that their offense was pretty simplistic but they were executing at a high level but I think the defense have a game plan against them.

Cowboys look good though and in the playoffs man are they going to be desperate to beat us after we knocked them out 2x in 2 years I really hope we don't play them

The problem is, Idk who else in the NFC can be expected to beat Dallas, you know? I've been saying it all off season, Dallas is the team to worry about in the NFC. Beating a team three years in a row is hard. I think that's why it's so important we win as much as we can and try to get home field.

the cowboys have an easier schedule, at least from what we know right now.

the week 5 matchup will be huge and telling. It's early in the season though and won't be a great indicator for how the playoffs will go. It'll just mainly be huge for seeding. I expect both of us will be undefeated by that matchup.

Exactly

They didn't even give up a pressure in week one. Warners sack was the first time he's been sacked this year. So it's not just us that struggled, at least we eventually started getting there and causing problems.

if they were more balanced, it would of been more of an issue for us.
Nick bosa was our highest rated player on defense by PFF. Doesn't mean a ton but does show that he was impacted, just couldn't get home.

had two holding calls, which could have been more. He's still showing his presence

That should be a stat right next to Tackles, Sacks, TFL - Forced Holding Penalties.

The Rams offensive line played outstanding against the 49ers yesterday but was helped by a smart QB and good coaching. Stafford was not holding onto the ball long and, as has been mentioned, they torched the 49ers defense until Wilks changed up the game plan with tighter coverage and more pressure in the second half. Want to point out that Stafford's two picks were really errors by the young receivers not the QB. The first one was a strike that bounced off the WR's hands and the second one the WR took a lazy break on his route and allowed Lenore to undercut it for the pick. Either way, the Rams are a lot better than we thought they were going to be.

I would give most of the credit to Stafford getting rid of the ball quickly and his receivers getting open. He was pressured on 36.7% of his dropback's and only had 2.75 seconds on average before being pressured. Eventually the pressure did get to him and he threw an INT late in the game while he was under pressure.

Mad respect to the Rams for the way they hung with the 49ers on Sunday. The team appears to have struck gold in the draft with both RB's and WR's. Those young players gave the 49ers fits yesterday through three quarters. I shudder to think what they are going to do to this team in another season or two. This is assuming, of course, that the Rams can draft and develop a young QB to distribute the ball to his playmakers.

Going into the season everyone thought the NFC West was going to be a one team race (49ers). I don't think so. Both the Rams and Seahawks put on some outstanding performances yesterday. As much as I would love to see the Seahawks finally crumble, it may not happen.
Can we get a inside scoop on Cam Akers? He's on social media like I don't know what the prob is..
really dude? every other player, is able to stay in the good graces of McVay, that's the one dude who continually gets inactive for LAR *coaches decision*
what's the story here?

The Rams prefer to play the short passing game against us to try and negate our pass rush, and this gamestyle is a big reason why they were able to beat us in the NFCCG two years ago. Our defense is fantastic at taking the intermediate/deep throws, and Stafford is a very talented veteran QB that can play this type of game. It's going to be tough when Cooper Kupp comes back, because we're not as strong in man coverage.

But largely, I'm not too worried about the Rams. This is a very hard playstyle to play for four quarters. They eventually couldn't keep it up in the second half, and if our offense is putting up 30 points per game... I really don't think they can keep up. In the end, the game ended exactly how it should of. Playing at a deficit with no real passing threat to the intermediate/deep range, they ran out of time and could only kick a meaningless field goal to pad the score a little bit.
Just discovered there's SOSA Ram fans who call Raheem Morris, "Porous" (as in: what a porous defense). LOL
