our long snapper didn't even know how divisions and conferences worked until his second year in the NFL. This is what I mean when I say a lot of players don't know s**t about football - they just play cause they're good at it but don't care or watch it. I remember Mcnabb didn't even know teams could tie. A lot of football players don't watch or know much about the sport - that's why I appreciate when people like Brock are just obsessive and nerds about the game.

purdy needs to silence the skeptics and show them he's not just a product of a "qb friendly" system

They ran straight at Parsons alot of time and it worked out pretty well for them. I wonder if they will use that same approach with bosa.
Problem is Bosa knows how to shed his blocks and make TFL's. I'm sure teams tried that all last year.
Plus, Bosa is bigger. He's got an inch on Parsons, plus 30-extra pounds of muscle mass. Both players are in excellent shape. But Bosa's size makes it tough on teams who attempt to run straight at him. The only way to get away with that strategy is to routinely double-team the guy, and that just opens up opportunities for multiple other players on the 49er D.
I saw a breakdown of 2 giant runs directly at bosa thst showed why it wont work.
Bosa usually wins v the OL at the point of attack and sets the edge while keeping outside arm free
This usually funnels the RB inside where our big FA signing DT is also beating his OL. RB has nowhere to go
Giants ran it again later and tried bouncing it outside but LB Burks was free to run it down after Bosa disengaged and forced RB wide to the sideline
Wish I had the link to share sorry
The only game that I can remember where a team went right at Bosa and had success was against the chiefs last season. Bosa was coming off an injury with zero practice reps leading up to that game though.

It was nice having all our weapons on offense for the first 2 weeks of the season
I think a better way to look at it is we need at least two healthy of the CMC, Kittle, Deebo, and Aiyuk group every week to be effective. If we have more, then we can spread the rock, but at least having two means the opposing defense needs to key on both. And we have enough guys behind them that are good that we should be effective.
