I've been seeing this for a few years now, our fan's level of knowledge of the game and impulse control is at an all time low. We have people that are constantly talking about firing everyone or trading our best players away after a win. In addition to that, it seems like once a week TMZ is doing a story about our fans not only fighting, but fighting each other! Today a story appeared in my news feed about a woman who was slung down the steps in the stands by her hair (by another Niner fan). Seriously, I've been a fan for over three decades and I can't remember it ever being this bad.

What do you think it is? Can it be fixed?
Usually that's Raiders fans. But sometimes drugs and alcohol and anger management issues can happen. Generally the 49ers attract a lot of upscale fans. But you also have some rough neighborhoods there which are also fans. Nothing wrong about anybody rich, middle class or less well off. Just some of the tougher areas may have a bit of gang culture which can spill over at a game.
Fans have been fighting in stands since forever
There are full blown riots between rival fan bases in international soccer leagues that put nfl fan fighting to shame.

blame the roots of our country and how we've evolved as a society in regards to cult-like mentalities over everything
People used to complain that our fans were too soft, a wine and cheese crowd.

It's not just that, but with film availability an quality beat writers, our fans still struggle with knowledge of the game past fantasy football and ESPN talking heads.
smoking a lil weed is all they might need

We have one of the worst fanbases, never satisfied with anything, complain whenever we don't make a move for a big name, call every unknown or small name signing a bust signing, refuse to allow draft picks to develop, it's ridiculous.

1994 was the last time we won the Super Bowl.

This.
There's big money to be had in anger and so our world has become an angrier place.
People fighting in the stands happens in many stadiums for almost every fan base. I don't think it's exclusive to the Niners.

Being very reactionary is another trend that's more of a trend in the modern world with instant reactions available to be distributed massively to millions of people.

I will say that there are many people on the forum, not naming names or anything, that post comments whole watching the game... getting players wrong, asking for players to come off the bench who are on ir, misreading plays etc. That just tells me they're watching the game on a very superfluous level. Nothing criminal of course, but wish there was a little bit more perspective and nuance.

True, but we've been to two since then, IMO we should have won both, BS calls went BAL & KC's ways, but it's not easy to win a SB, only 1 team can do it in a season, haven't seen a back to back champions since Brady led Pats.
lol none of this is new.
