They beat up on teams with high pressure and forcing mistakes. We just need to play with discipline on offense, so Purdy needs to continue to take care of the football well.

It is though. He was awesome today regardless. His total QBR will probably be very high as well. Just an excellent game by him.

It is also a QB stat as evident by today's game. There's no be all end all stat that can sum up a QB's play, but extrapolated over the course of a career, QB rating doesn't fail to tell us roughly where QBs stack against one another.

I don't necessarily disagree. Most of those great QBs played on good teams for long periods of their career though. It's hand in hand.

I think the key there is "extrapolated over the course of a career".

The point being that QB rating can tell us how good a QB is over a period of time. When you have a guy with 3/4 of a season worth of starts, have this good QB rating, you can start to get the picture.

Honestly I still think Wilks is finding his way with this D.

I saw several where he just guessed wrong.

That one early blitz with trips right was such an awful whiff. Left the whole middle open.

He is a pro and makes good adjustments.

Think it will be just fine in the long run.

It used to be with Jimmy the D needed to be lights out then we are good. Now the O is blasting off. The D doesn't need to be near perfect every game. Maybe we chill on D a bit. They have been the glue for years. Time for the O to finally pick them up when required.
