Salah wouldn't be able to do anything with these DBs (remember, he had Mosley and Sherman, two better CBs then what we have starting opposite Ward) and I doubt Ryans could do any better.

There's only so much coaching can do, and it's really hard for coaching to overcome average talent.

Every now and then I get a smart reply like yours on this board. Clearly you see the game of what is actually going on, instead of being like most 49ers fans who act like they are only following the game by radio broadcast and just say fire this coach, cut this player, etc. Watching the game anybody should be able to sum it up like you and I have. Wilks has called and tried everything and the bottomline is the Cards found the weakness in the 49ers defense and to their credit, they are exploiting it. We are weak in the secondary and without pressure or sacks our defense is very ordinary as we have seen before this year.

I can't see that happening. I also thinks Wilks is....playing around with this D as opposed to cutting loose. Its irritating because I think of our 1st few games last year- we looked like an all time defense. This year, we have better talent, yet look top 5, which isn't bad, but given what we have . . .

Oliver was on his way to being a bust in Atlanta when he was playing outside. It wasn't until they moved him to slot that his play improved. He might not be athletic enough to play outside.

Give Cardinals credit. Now O needs to show its quality and give the D a chance to catch its breath and get us back in the driver seat.
