Last years playoff game is on NFL network now. Brock is much better now and Kyle was very conservative in the 4th quarter with his rookie QB.
Other things that stood out : Goulds easy fgs, Lenoir giving up over 100yrds to Lamb, Ebukam being relentless opposite Bosa, CMC hurt with his calf, but most glaring is Dak looked bad in the 4th. Bad passes and near picks.
45% pressure rate. We struggled to run too IIRC...which lead to the pressure rate (more predictable). Is that right?
AAs crappy tackle at the end missed an easy safety. Dre dropped an int and Eli should have kneeled. All these errors that helped the Cowboys sustain this game. I'm hoping we have a better killer instinct.

Dak should have thrown 5-6 INT's in that game. Our defense only capitalized on the first two opportunities.

Dallas is going to challenge the middle of the Niner run D with the best pair of run-blocking Guards (Tyler Smith #1 and Zach Martin #4) in the league, and a Center that is roughly the equivalent of Brendel when he was playing well last season. Hargrave, AA, and Kinlaw will be tested big time. They should hold up but it will be a 60-minute battle worth watching.
Likewise, on defense, Dallas brings the best pair of pass-rushing EDs in the league, Lawrence and Parsons. Hankins is enough of a load inside to keep double-teams off the EDs. Banks, Burford, and Brendel will have their hands full protecting their own turf to help outside. None of those three are above "replacement" grade when it comes to pass blocking. McKivitz will need help from TEs which will take away one potential quick outlet pass for Purdy.
In the end, Dallas has an edge in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Kyle and Wilks will have to use scheme to counter.

They had those "advantages" the last 2 years as well. The Dallas OL has been elite for a while. Strange they haven't done much....almost as if the QB is more important....
LOL. Dallas' OL hasn't been elite in ages. And the greatest OL in history can't do anything for Dak's psyche in big games. It's 'almost' like you need both.
LOL. You sound like All, Hoov and 9ers4eva. Haha.
No, the Superbowl winners had BOTH the QB + OL playing at elite levels (and won the Superbowl).
You need both.
Capiche?
Detroit is 1 of 2 teams in the tier 1 OL. Do you think they'll win a Superbowl with Goff?
You need both.
If you are the Niner GM, would you trade Bosa, CMC, Warner, and Aiyuk for 4 star linemen? Do you think that would give us a better chance to win the Superbowl?
If I was the GM, I had 7 years to upgrade the OL while keeping all those guys as well.

Look, I'm always this way. I expect the Cowboys to win because (a) it hurts less if they do, and (b) I see the film and see how great that defense is, even with the loss to the Cardinals. But I'll say this: if we beat them, there is NO question that we are the best team in the NFL, and only injuries and strange flukes will prevent us from winning the Super Bowl.
We need to run the ball, and we need to trust that Brock will continue to make the right decisions, and that Dak will revert when he faces a great defense.

How can you tell if they have a good defense? They haven't played anyone worth a damn. They've beat the Jets, giants and patriots, and lost to a team we beat by 19. I don't think they suck, but they have definite weakness at linebacker and safety. Our defense is definitely a cut above them personnel wise. There's no reason to be anything but cautiously optimistic. I wouldn't be surprised if we lead it wire to wire barring sloppy turnovers.
