The only teams that concern me are the Eagles and Chiefs. We are clearly better than everyone else. We have a good chance against those too. But those 2 would have a chance against us also.

It's the extra men on the field, that the Chiefs and Eagles have - that concern me the most.

There is a non-zero chance this team goes undefeated. Biggest pitfall is probably PHI, but another sneaky possibility is that the team may have to make a decision in week 18 or even 17 if they are undefeated and have the #1 seed locked up.

If home field is locked up, why risk stars?

Besides completing a perfect season I can't think of many other reasons. However, I believe there is some loose evidence that teams which rest their players the last week of the season can come out slow two weeks later in the divisional round.

Please stop with the conspiracy stuff.

What conspiracy? It's pretty hard to deny when some teams get a large number of favorable calls or non-calls, especially in key moments. Lane Johnson has basically been living offsides since last season. And the odds of a hold being called on a Chief's o-lineman during a Mahommes comeback are about 0.0000001%.

I agree. For once, Kyle's intentions aren't obstructed by his QB and the results are scary.
Huge credit goes to our scouts for maintaining our momentum through a series of low-leverage drafts.
And then there's the D: you don't lose this many defensive coordinators and maintain this level of play-- I think Fred Warner is a big part of this. Now that the first part of his playing career is behind him, I hope we start developing him toward coaching during the second half of his playing career. He's the beating heart of this defense and a guy you want to keep inside the building.
All of this points to a culture within the building that reinforces excellence. Back in the old days, we called this the Forty Niners Way. It's nice to have that back again. Better still, it's thrilling to know what its capable of accomplishing.
We're probably going to lose Brian Griese to a HC job in the far future, and for sure Anthony Lynn this offseason. I hope Kyle can get Steve Young to coach our QB's when that happens and maybe get Frank Gore to be assistant position coach for Kyle too, if Anthony Lynn goes. The way this team is succeeding this year - and the way McDaniel is killing it in Miami, Kyle's assistant coaches will be targeted big time this offseason.
Griese not ready.. not for a HC job.. offers as OC will be a plenty but I doubt as a HC..
