It's the extra men on the field, that the Chiefs and Eagles have - that concern me the most.
Please stop with the conspiracy stuff.
What conspiracy? It's pretty hard to deny when some teams get a large number of favorable calls or non-calls, especially in key moments. Lane Johnson has basically been living offsides since last season. And the odds of a hold being called on a Chief's o-lineman during a Mahommes comeback are about 0.0000001%.
The way ref's are chosen for the playoffs, they have to grade high in correct calls. The result, in my opinion is getting refs that simply don't call penalties. If they don't call penalties, they can't get downgraded for bad calls, and hence they are graded higher for the playoffs. It's - supposedly - an all star cast of refs for each playoff and super bowl. My take is that the guys who get chosen to ref in the
playoffs just don't call penalties. Hence, once you get into the super bowl, you get refs that simply won't call holding penalties and the like. That hurts teams like us with dominant defensive lines. To counter that, you have to have a great OLine to ball hog and a great defensive backfield squad to slow down playoff offenses when the refs negate our DLine pressure.
