Let's give crdedit to where credit is due. It was 49ers 'great' Hall of Famer halfback, Hugh McElhenny, for introducing to the NFL the straight arm, an offensive running back's weapon which is widely used today by the NFL's premier running backs like 49ers Christian McCaffery and Tennessee's Derrick Henry. In fact, I saw "The KIng" McElhenny use it in a1952 game at Kezar Stadium against the Chicago Bears, and it became his signature weapon in the open-field. Now it's being used frequently in the NFL.
