He should fire Wilks tonight

Then what? We are stuck with him unfortunately. You can't just fire a DC mid-season.
When I spend three firsts I am expecting to draft a QB that can overcome the MIN Vikings. When I choose to go with my injured 7th rounder and Sam Darnold I am expecting to beat the MIN Vikings

I don't know what to say other than I'll watch 17 games and pass judgement later but through 7 games it's been a mixed bag
This team read too many of its own press clippings. They have been humbled twice now, their character is going to be tested over the next few weeks.
will kyle play. sam darnold?
80% defense
20% offense

Our defense was embarrassing on every aspect.

Wilks is doing great
D is highly ranked we lead the NFL in INTs
Ward positioned for a big one, Wilks can't catch it for him
Again with the money spent on this defense we should not been down to hoping the Vikes miss a FG and a second year QB can drive for the TD in under 90 seconds. The last two games the Dline looks piss poor. The second group actually looks better than the starting 4. Also as a defensive coordinator with 16 seconds left and the other team has zero TOs you absolutely don't run a zero blitz. Terrible play call

On that first Int he threw I thought I saw a tug by the DB on Jennings throwing him off the route some. I think that is why the timing on that one was off. But the second one he just locked in on Macdonald.

It was a bad read or just inaccurate throw…Jennings was never getting to the spot regardless…Because of the lack of true arm talent, he's gotta make those anticipatory throws and have amazing timing…if not those types of TOs will happen. He had a couple other WTF passes the past two games as well.

I don't know, hopefully it's just a hiccup in his development. They've seemed to go all in on him and we don't have a choice there now.

I was just about to post the very same about his arm strength. He does have to rely on timing a lot, and aikman made a point of that. His arm just isnt strong enough.

Even CMC and fumbles. This is really his fault.

The D is the glue. Without it rest doesn't matter

God I forgot about the CMC fumble..this is how bad the game was
17 points in back to back weeks
that's on the O, not good enough

The crux of the problem with this team now is the defense. The offense did have some mistakes - fumble by mccaffery... running game looks absolutely pathetic...purdy threw a couple of interceptions..but with all that the defense had 0 sacks and could not stop third down.
The D line is not getting home... which causes the secondary to be exposed.
I dont know if the back end is playing to off on third downs to let the opposition have an easy first down or ?
The touchdown at the end of the 1st half is totally on Wilks. So far this guy gets an F for his play calling. Team really misses Ryans. This years defense really shows how good of a coach he was.
Overall I would say Wilks defense is the main reason that the niners have looked so bac. I still have confidence in their offense... but I have absolutely no confidence in the defense.

This team should've work on their OLine but for some reason they just don't like bringing in OL

Nah let's overdraft a kicker & TE that's on IR instead. This was a good draft to find OL in the mid rds.

same at DB. Our DC who's suppose to be secondary wizard has these guys playing like pure s**t. Ward isn't this bad. It's like we were down a man in the secondary tonight with how big those zones to throw into were. Imagine if they had Jefferson out there?!
