Too many studs on our defense for anywhere close to this. That's why it falls on Wilks. He won't be fired but we will pay the price

He wont be fired, it's midseason. He needs to do some studying or something during the bye week. Make a change, maybe be on the sidelines instead of in the booth...something.

If Lynch does make a blockbuster trade, it might help
They need to move him off the payroll that's the only move that'll help.
I think I said earlier in the game. .this feels like it's gunna be a 30-17 score Bengals iirc..I was pretty close..I chose that score cause Wilks is a disaster, dumpster fire lol. Please put out the fire before it burns our hopes of the NFC game away. Ugh why was this guy hired???

This is the worst part. This defense, shanahan, and team as a whole seem incapable of coming back in a game if it's more than one score.

Never felt the sense the d could get a single stop or that they could win this game. Same with Minnesota.

Wilks primary runs a 4-2-5 defense. This means there's 4 lineman, two linebackers and 5 defensive backs. He's also someone who blitzes a lot.

That's different then what we ran under Salah and Ryans, which was a 4-3 with Bosa usually being out wide (this is the wide-9) where he could just focus on rushing (which is his strength). Ryans last year also was middle of pack in regards to blitzing. O

The issue we're running into is that we don't have the personal in the secondary to run a 4-2-5 defense. Oliver has been an absolute failure as the slot corner, and we're trading a linebacker for him, which is effecting the run game defense.

We're also failing to generate any pass rush with the front four, which, combined with the secondary playing a soft zone, is leaving the middle of the field wide-ass open, and teams are exploiting that.

Makes sense. What happened to the old adage "if it's not broke don't fix it"?

It's because we were both losing and we only forced Minnesota to punt once. Same with the Bengals. If you never get off the field you can't win. Even if we somehow tied it up or took the lead your banking on forcing at least 2 punts(stops) to win the game one score down. One to get the ball. One to stop their final drive.

Highly unlikely given how the defense was playing. That's why it felt hopeless.

We should have been getting blown out 24-10 at the half against the Bengals if it weren't for flukey turnovers you can't count on. We were getting smashed in both games.

Absolute trash.

Unfortunately, Kyle will not get rid of him. And most likely will keep him next year as well. Which means the beginning of the end of the Kyle Shanahan era in San Francisco. And 8 years with no SB win to show for it equals GOOD RIDDANCE in my opinion…
This losing streak is depressing, I miss the good ol days of 3 weeks ago lol
He took a top 3 defense and turned it into a bottom 5 defense. Honestly I have a hard time naming 5 teams that have a worse defense than our's currently.
Bottom feeder Wilks

And replace him with who? It's not like we have another DeMeco Ryans on the staff as a back-up option.

Depends on if they really believe in someone else internally.

If he's interested in the job then I can't think of anyone else better suited to hit the ground running and actually do a better job than Wilks.

True grit

How about Johnny Holland? Follow the LB coach to DC trend like Saleh and Meco
Really can't get much worse lol

Would love this but won't happen. Shanny is the type of leader that won't hire someone that actually might know more than him. Think that's another reason Fangio wasn't hired.
I don't care if the water boy gets the job, as long as they show PASSION and are on the SIDELINE!!!

They need to feel the DC!!
