The team doubling down on DL in the off-season (for what looks like diminishing returns at best) while neglecting CB is a core team building issue. How much are we already spending on the DL and now ppl want to add more? Stop, there's enough talent to win with the DL as is. The real issue is Charvarius Ward's regression (and he wasn't elite to begin with) and the fact that Oliver and Lenoir are not starters on most other teams, let alone a Super Bowl contender. Burrow completed almost 90% of his passes all game, they are ABYSMAL.

Ward, Lenoir and Oliver would be bench warmers on Philly, KC and Seattle. But yeah, let's throw even more money and draft capital on the DL

I've been through a lot of seasons with the Niners started in the late 70,'s . I was blessed to see those great teams and honestly got spoiled , it was expected year in year out to put a great team on the field , Then came the years where the Niners were a crappy team , year in year out , I always hoped they'd put together a good season but the expectations were what they were , the writing was on the wall and expectations were low. This season however my expectations were the highest they've been in awhile to see them return to those glory years . They had a lot of returning players , decent add on to D-line , a up and coming young QB , I did have questions on the o-line, but figured they could scheme around a lot of that, tons of skill players at key positions . We start out on fire and my expectations were so high . I was looking forward to each game knowing we had the team to be more than competitive in each of them and put teams away.. no matter who we faced ,, it was a great feeling. Now being where we are as a team is the worse I've felt n 40+ years as a 9er fan , expectations went from being so high to the lowest let down .. this team is underachieving ,mismanaged shows no heart, takes no pride ,seems to take no responsibility and what's worse. It's the total team from the head coach on down .. of course I hope they'll right the ship but at this point my expectations have been let down .. but no matter what I'll always always be pulling for my 9ers !!!
sorry for the book just needed to vent ..

Tomorrow is judgement day, they need to do something cause those players aren't cutting it. One thing has to change, either fire the DC or add more talent, and they sure as hell aren't gonna fire the DC right now. Oliver is soft, he remind me of washed up Josh Norman. If the 9ers want a real CB bring in Patrick Surtain, Kenny Moore or Jaylon Johnson. Stop with these soft ass CB's already!!!

Wilks ain't good but the scheme is the way it is bc there is no faith in the CBs 1 on 1. Quality corners allow for more press and tighter coverages. On the flip side, I'm not convinced Burns or Hunter or any of these guys we add to the DL is going to change much either since teams are already game planning to neutralize the pass rush (plus the DC has apparently never heard of a stunt) and the WRs are beating our CBs off the snap in 1-2 seconds.

This team isn't broken. It's just under achieving. Either that or all the football pundits really over estimated how good this team was prior to the season. Let's wait and see if Lynch can pick up some help and how they do coming out of the bye.

I don't think they're broken either but def showing signs. Where was the heart yesterday? Really missing the Deebo/Trent passion. But hey winning cures a lot of things. This team needs a spark, something positive has to come out of Jacksonville or it may just be a downward spiral. This sure doesn't feel like a 5-3 team.

I think the defense Is broken, but surely the offense will pick It up again soon.
Either way, It'll be another heartbreaking NFCCG loss at best

Trent Williams coming back will immensely help the run game, at least to the left side of the OL. Go trade for a run stuffing DT. Cross fingers things get better.
